Advance your skills in the global tourism and hospitality industries
You'll gain relevant applied practical skills in hotel operations, restaurant management, and integrated event management as well as a solid grounding in practical business skills. Core themes of the credential include: sustainability, service management, entrepreneurship and cross cultural diversity including an Indigenous world-view, this will allow you to better examine both tourism and hospitality through a global lens.

What You'll Learn
As a post-degree diploma student, you will receive targeted training across a range of skill areas that will set you up for success in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Work Experience
You will gain practical skills and experience by combining your hospitality and tourism studies with a four month work experience placement. This will allow for the practical application of program concepts while gaining valuable industry-specific work experience.

The Office Administration program provides you with real-world skills and intensive business software training to get started in a career as an administrative professional. You will gain an in-depth exposure, as an end-user, of the technologies required for today’s modern office.

As an Office Administration student, you will learn business communications, financial management, information management and workplace professionalism. You will graduate with valuable in-depth exposure, as an end-user, of the technologies required for today's office.

Internship Option

• To be eligible to participate in a work term, you need to successfully complete a minimum of 8 courses, obtain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and complete the workshop series COOP WEP, prior to your first work term (Internship).

The Electronics and Computer Engineering Bridge to the University of Victoria program is offered by Camosun College with the cooperation of the University of Victoria (UVic). Students with an approved diploma in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, can take this one-year program to upgrade their mathematics, sciences, and related engineering knowledge in preparation for entering the third year of Engineering at the University of Victoria.

Fundamental knowledge of computing systems

• The Information and Computer Systems program prepares you for work locally and globally in database design and management, network software design, administration, and operations and maintenance of networks and software.

Practical IT Solutions
This two-year, double-credentialed program starts with an Information and Computer Systems Technician certificate, which takes nine months to complete. With an additional nine months of study, you'll earn a full Information and Computer Systems Technology diploma. The Information and Computer Systems (ICS) program emphasizes the analysis and development of practical IT solutions in a rapidly-changing technological environment.

For added hands-on experience, students can complete a four- or eight-month internship to complement their coursework.

Build Your Skills
As an ICS student, you'll learn to think critically, problem-solve both individually and as a team, and communicate effectively with all levels of IT users. You will learn concrete skills, including how to:

• program, deploy, secure, and maintain software applications to meet requirements
• design, analyze, maintain, and interpret data
• apply knowledge of basic project management skills to information technology activities
• effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, team members, employers, and technical and non-technical personnel

What to expect
This technical, rigorous program is composed of a one-year full-time certificate and a subsequent one-year diploma. Both credentials can be completed with an internship designation.
As a full-time student in the Information and Computer Systems program, you will spend 25-30 hours in class each week with approximately five hours of homework every day, including weekends. Before you begin this program you should be comfortable with basic computing skills, word processing, and file management.

Year 1:- Your first year will provide you with knowledge of operating systems, web development, software engineering, and many different programming languages.
Year 2:- As you continue your studies toward the Diploma in Information and Computer Systems, you’ll develop skills in system analysis and design, applied software development, and implementing security in a variety of situations.

Optional Co-op/Internship
As an Information and Computer Systems student, you have the option to supplement your classroom learning with the completion of up to three paid work terms. After successful completion of these optional work experiences, you'll qualify for either the Co-op or Internship designation when you graduate.

You'll gain a solid business education and develop the practical skills that you will need to be successful in a range of marketing roles. 

Year 1: In the first year, you'll work through introductory–level courses in accounting, finance, economics, and marketing. Exit the program now with a Certificate in Business Administration or continue onto the year 2.
Year 2: In your second year, you'll work through marketing research, creative selling, and entrepreneurship courses. Exit the program now with a Diploma in Business Administration-Marketing Option.

Co-op/Internship options
To be eligible to participate in Internship or Co-op, you need to successfully complete a minimum of 8 first year courses, obtain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and complete the workshop series COOP WEP, prior to your first work term (Internship) and all subsequent work terms (Co-op).

We focus on the management skills, rather than a policy orientation, with an emphasis on strategic planning, financial management, leadership, communication and negotiation. You will have the knowledge, skills and abilities you’ll need to enter the public administration field as a beginning practitioner.

Camosun Culinary Arts offers one of the most successful Professional Cook Red Seal Endorsement (RSE) programs in Canada. COOK is a designated Red Seal trade credential; apprenticeship training is recognized across Canada and around the world.

Overview

The Professional Cook 1 (PRCO-401) program is offered with intakes in September, January and April and the Professional Cook 2 (PRCO-402) program is offered with intakes in September and January. Both programs are offered at the Interurban campus.

PRCO-401 is 28 weeks long, and upon successful completion you’ll be awarded the equivalent of technical training for PRCO-401 apprenticeship. PRCO-402 is offered over 14 weeks and upon completion you will receive the PRCO-402 technical training certificate and apprenticeship training. As a Professional Cook student you will be automatically registered with the Industry Training Authority (ITA).

Our e-pprentice program allows you to complete your apprenticeship online.

Culinary Artistry
You'll be trained in the many aspects of food preparation in modern industrial kitchens alongside professional standards of sanitation, personal hygiene, portion control, waste prevention, and nutritional considerations of common foods/diets.

What to expect
Professional Cook training uses an  applied learning approach to combine technical knowledge, supported by daily hands-on practice in professional commercial grade kitchen facilities.

You'll prepare and serve a variety of foods to staff, students and the public at the  Interurban Campus Cafeteria and ClassRoom Restaurant.Training is also provided on board the  Camosun Cuisine Machine,, the first post-secondary food truck classroom of its kind in Western Canada.

This unique learning environment supports our mission to graduate outstanding professional cooks with exceptional technical skills, paired with a positive professional attitude.

Professional Cook 1 (PRCO-100 or PRCO-401)
Professional Cook 1 is delivered over 28 weeks (7:30am-2:30pm Monday through Friday) and provides 600 hours of industry work-based training, technical training and certification assessment (practical and written).

For your apprenticeship, you will need to complete an additional 400 hours of practical work-based training (WBT) on your own by working in a commercial kitchen under a Red Seal certified Chef.

Professional Cook 2 (PRCO-200 or PRCO-402)
Professional Cook 2 is a 14-week full-time program, which runs from 1:30pm to 10pm Monday through Friday, and provides 240 hours of industry work-based training, technical training and certification assessment (practical and written).

For your apprenticeship, you will need to complete an additional 760 hours of practical work-based training (WBT) on your own by working in a commercial kitchen under a Red Seal certified Chef.

Missing program requirements for Civil Engineering Technology? Our Access program will prepare you for this popular Camosun program. Upgrade your math, physics and English skills and take courses in technical drawing, graphics and computing that you'll need for your next step. In less than a year, you can earn a certificate and a guaranteed seat in the next intake of the Civil Engineering Technology diploma program.

This two-year, 20-course program will give you a head start in economics, statistics, science and English, as well as your choice of electives to round out your education.

You will learn to apply economic theories to analyze market changes, consumer choices, competition, business cycles, and the effects of trade. You will gain exposure to banking and financial markets, managerial economics, and quantitative methods. The analytical skills you develop in this program are useful in a career in economics or business, and in your personal decision-making.

The Computer Network Electronics Technician certificate program has a practical career-oriented approach, giving you the knowledge and hands-on experience you need to be able to install, repair, and maintain computers, servers, computer networks, and electronic systems.

Skills you'll gain
You don't need any previous knowledge of computers or electronics to enrol in this program. By the time you graduate, you'll possess a wide variety of skills, such as: installation and maintenance of computer networking systems; maintenance and repair of personal computers; maintenance and repair of server systems; analog and digital circuit assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance; installation, repair, and maintenance of microprocessor-based equipment; and technical sales support.

Optional Co-op/Internship
The co-op or internship is an optional component of the program. It is paid work experience that can enable you to experience different employment fields and often leads to permanent employment.
