The Bachelor of Sport Management is a dynamic applied degree program that prepares graduates to work in the sport management industry. Graduates of this leading-edge program are analytical and strategic thinkers who have the requisite skills and knowledge to lead and manage in a variety of sport industry contexts. Graduates are prepared to practice professionally, responsibly and ethically in the sport management industry and integrate management, business, sport science, and socio-cultural knowledge into the role of the sport manager. Applied strategic and organizational planning skills, along with the ability to develop professional relationships within the sport and business community, enable graduates to lead and manage in sport environments, provincially, nationally and globally. Applied learning opportunities including internship, and capstone learning experiences are offered throughout this program.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program students will be able to:

• Apply and synthesize knowledge of sport theory, concepts and principles in a range of sport management contexts.
• Incorporate management and business concepts and principles into sport industry/field practices.
• Demonstrate and model social responsibility and cultural awareness including Indigenous awareness as a sport management professional.

Advance your skills in the global tourism and hospitality industries
You'll gain relevant applied practical skills in hotel operations, restaurant management, and integrated event management as well as a solid grounding in practical business skills. Core themes of the credential include: sustainability, service management, entrepreneurship and cross cultural diversity including an Indigenous world-view, this will allow you to better examine both tourism and hospitality through a global lens.

What You'll Learn
As a post-degree diploma student, you will receive targeted training across a range of skill areas that will set you up for success in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Work Experience
You will gain practical skills and experience by combining your hospitality and tourism studies with a four month work experience placement. This will allow for the practical application of program concepts while gaining valuable industry-specific work experience.

Choose from transfer courses in more than 30 different subject areas. These courses will transfer to at least one BC post-secondary institution.

Whether you want to take one or two courses at a time, or register for full-time studies with four or five courses each semester, the University Transfer program gives you the freedom to design your own timetable. Generally speaking, you'll probably start by taking 100-level courses (first-year) and follow up with corresponding 200-level (second-year) courses.

Develop your application from concept to production
Work locally and globally in application, game, or web development, graphic design, and user interaction.

Build Your Skills
If you’re artistically and technologically minded, the Interactive Media Developer (IMD) program will nurture your programming skills and artistic vision to take on creative and technical challenges.

You'll learn the skills you need to take an idea or a problem and develop it from concept to production. You’ll get the opportunity to write professional documentation, design and implement stories or games, and apply your knowledge to create you own interactive experiences. Optional work terms will complement your coursework with added hands-on experience.

A double-credentialed program
The one-year Interactive Media Developer Technician certificate program prepares you to work locally in the exciting world of software development. Possible careers include junior application or web developer, and junior graphic designer.

Continue your studies for another year, and you receive the Interactive Media Developer Technologist diploma. Graduates work as web, software, game or mobile app developers, and are prepared for work in quality assurance, visual effects, product management or product design/user experience.

What to expect
This technical, rigorous program is composed of a one-year full-time certificate and a subsequent one-year diploma. Both credentials can be completed with an internship designation.

As a full-time student in the Interactive Media Developer program, you will spend 25-30 hours in class each week with approximately five hours of homework every day, including weekends. Before you begin this program you should be comfortable with basic computing skills, word processing, and file management.

Year 1
In your first year, you'll develop strong foundational skills and knowledge in programming and application development, computer logic and algorithms, 3D modelling and animation, and project management.

Year 2
As you continue your studies toward the Diploma in Interactive Media Developer, you’ll develop skills in artificial intelligence, design visualization, augmented reality, human-computer interaction, and project management.

Optional Co-op/Internship Designation
As an Interactive Media Developer student, you have the option to supplement your classroom learning with the completion of one or two paid work terms. After successful completion of these optional work experiences, you'll qualify either either the Co-op or Internship designation when you graduate.

This program offers you a selection of business courses that will give you a broad and contemporary view of the functional areas of business. During your year at Camosun, you'll work through introductory–level courses in accounting, finance, management, economics, and marketing.

You'll gain valuable business skills while building on past learning. You will study a broad range of marketing concepts with opportunities to develop competencies in corporate communications & marketing, consumer behaviour, and services marketing.

Work Experience
You will gain practical skills and experience by combining your academic studies with relevant work experience in the Internship designation. You'll graduate with practical work experience and employer references. Employers value internship as a source of eager and well-prepared talent and often use the internship process as a means of recruiting permanent employees.

The Cybersecurity & Network Support Technician certificate program has a practical career-oriented approach, giving you the knowledge and hands-on experience you need to be able to install, repair, secure and maintain computers, servers and computer networks.

The demand for security professionals with skills to protect systems from attack continues to grow. Completing this diploma program will not only give you the skills to maintain computer and networks systems but will give you the ability to design and configure these systems and optimise them to protect them from attack. You'll have the skills to assess and deploy Cloud based solutions in a secure manner and monitor, assess, and respond appropriately to security events on any of the network systems.

Skills you'll gain
You don't need any previous knowledge of computers or networks to enrol in this program. By the time you graduate, you'll possess a wide variety of skills, such as:

• Installation and maintenance of complex computer networking systems;
• Maintenance and repair of personal computers;
• Maintenance and repair of server systems;
• Implementation of workstation security;
• Security analyst - monitoring, detecting, investigating, analyzing and responding to security events;
• Configuration and setup of advanced servers including cloud based
• Technical sales support.

You'll gain valuable business skills relevant to working as human resource practitioners while building on past learning. There is particular emphasis placed on leadership and change management incorporating the majority of key competencies required to pursue a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.

Work experience
You will gain practical skills and experience by combining your academic studies with relevant work experience in the Internship designation. You'll graduate with practical work experience which will be complemented by valuable networking opportunities.

You will develop a foundation in leadership that prepares you for the strategic role HR professionals play in leading and influencing organizational performance. Applied learning experiences rooted in Human Resources principles are an integral component of this program.

Year 1: In your first year, you’ll work through introductory–level courses in accounting, finance, management, and marketing. Exit the program now with a Business Administration certificate or continue on to Year 2.
Year 2: In your second year, you'll take courses in HR management foundations, leadership skills, and negotiations and contracts. Exit the program now with a business administration diploma or continue on to Year 3.
Year 3: In your third year, you'll continue your studies in human resource development, leading organizational change, and employee & labour relations.
Year 4: For your fourth year, you'll be taking courses in strategic HR management, employment law, and applied leadership.
