Graduates enrolled in the program will enhance their knowledge on the topics of microbiology and toxicology, biology and chemistry, environmental monitoring, drinking water provincial certification, earth science and ecology, applied geomatics, benthos bio-monitoring provincial certification and more. Students may seek their career opportunities in the area of government agencies and ministries, energy sector, natural resources, private corporations, water agencies, conservation authorities and others relevant to the field.

Graduates of any Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts program can complete this hands-on, intensive program in one year.  Expand your knowledge and skill set working in real-world settings. A 210-hour field placement gives you a practical application for your training with the possibility of securing permanent employment. This program is designed in collaboration with Nipissing University’s Faculty of Education.

Train for a career in a growing field of Applied Behaviour Analysis. This specialized program will train you to work in a variety of fields with children, youth and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Developmental/Intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injury and/or mental health within the community, clinical setting, schools, residential placements and hospitals

Students will study a branch of psychology called Applied Behaviour Analysis- the science of assessing, analyzing and changing human behaviour.  Students will learn about the theory and clinical applications and technique of behaviour analysis and modification through an applied learning style and placement.

Graduates are qualified to work in a number of settings working with individuals or groups with mental health issues, autism or other developmental disabilities, to help them build new skills, or reduce problem behaviour and prevent crisis situations.

What You Learn (3 year)
Students will learn applications related to research in the field of ABA, and will be able to write and examine a research topic of interest through an individual research study. Students will complete a second placement in a clinical setting and will gain knowledge while working with special areas of focus, such as forensics, mental health, hospital settings, as well as high-risk behaviours. Students will also examine group behavioural therapy.

An emphasis will be placed on understanding the pathogenesis of diseases and learning how genetic variation interacts with an individual's environment, nutrition, and lifestyle. Canadore’s new innovative genomics laboratory is equipped with some of the most leading-edge technology in Canada including two DNA sequencers that provide the capacity for research in areas such as pharmacology, addictions, and disease prevention.

The Three years Advanced Diploma in Acting for Stage and Screen program allows students to take part in one or more live productions. Within which understudies are able to learn and develop their knowledge on acting and scene study, creative writing, film and television performance, movement, voice, speech and singing and many other skills. 

Consequently, after successfully completing the program graduates may find their employment in theatre, film and television, radio, commercials, and voice-overs.

This activity-based program is taught using a holistic approach in which the stages of a child’s developmental growth are emphasized including cognitive skills and socio-emotional development.

This program trains students to offer personal care and home management services to clients in community or institutional settings. Personal support workers provide services to clients with physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural challenges. Learn hands-on in the classroom, on community placements and in the home environment simulation lab equipped with high-end fidelity audio/visual equipment and interactive mannequins. PSWs are highly sought after as health care providers, working collaboratively as part of the health care team or in a supported independent living environment.
