Train for a career in a growing field of Applied Behaviour Analysis. This specialized program will train you to work in a variety of fields with children, youth and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Developmental/Intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injury and/or mental health within the community, clinical setting, schools, residential placements and hospitals

Students will study a branch of psychology called Applied Behaviour Analysis- the science of assessing, analyzing and changing human behaviour.  Students will learn about the theory and clinical applications and technique of behaviour analysis and modification through an applied learning style and placement.

Graduates are qualified to work in a number of settings working with individuals or groups with mental health issues, autism or other developmental disabilities, to help them build new skills, or reduce problem behaviour and prevent crisis situations.

What You Learn (3 year)
Students will learn applications related to research in the field of ABA, and will be able to write and examine a research topic of interest through an individual research study. Students will complete a second placement in a clinical setting and will gain knowledge while working with special areas of focus, such as forensics, mental health, hospital settings, as well as high-risk behaviours. Students will also examine group behavioural therapy.

Personal support workers provide services to clients with physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural challenges. Upon successful completion of the program students may find job opportunities in hospitals, recovery or rehabilitation homes, addiction treatment centers and prevention programs.

Graduates of any Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts program can complete this hands-on, intensive program in one year.  Expand your knowledge and skill set working in real-world settings.
