The Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education is a two year long baccalaureate program that deals with children, their care and education. The Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Diploma gives students the required knowledge to work with children under the age of five in licensed preschools and childcare centres. The program is exclusively designed for students who wish to take a career up in the same field and is headed by a team of expert professionals who have been working in the field of childcare and education from a long time.

Once the student has successfully completed an ECCE diploma he/she is eligible to apply to the degree program. After finishing this diploma students are also eligible for the ECCE Registry for credentials such as ECCE Basic Certificate, Infant Toddler Certificate and Special Needs Certificate. 

Capilano University provides a diploma in Classical Music which spans for 24 months. This two year program offers students a wholesome and creative environment to nurture their potential. This program is a unified whole of theoretical, historical as well as performance studies. Students are taught a number of instruments such as piano, voice, guitar, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and composition.

This two year diploma is a transferable program and students can get transferred to a Bachelor’s Degree in Music or a post graduate degree in Music Education and Liberal Arts. Many of the music diploma students transfer to the third year in Music Therapy program. Through the said degree students learn to Research, discuss, analyze, and notate music of a sophisticated harmonic, rhythmic, and formal character. As part of this 16-month diploma, you'll participate in a 280-hour practicum (more information in Application Details), working in the hospitality area of your interest. Upon graduation, you may be eligible to apply for a three-year Post Graduate Work Permit.

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) offers students a range of academic and education courses that blend theory and practice in the early years, engaging with research and theory.
Three core threads are intertwined throughout the degree: Curriculum, Childhoods, and Leadership and Advocacy. Students are invited to engage in critically reflective practice, working to create classrooms of social justice and equity for children and families.

Courses in the first two years meet the requirements of MCFD for:

• ECE Certificate to Practice
• Infant/Toddler Certificate to Practice, and/or
• Special Needs Certificate to Practice
• The ECCE degree is a pathway to elementary teacher education programs at SFU and UBC.

The Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication is a four year long baccalaureate program offered by Capilano University. This program is specifically designed for students who wish to build a career in creative arts and communications. Capilano University has an Associate of Science Degree program that is offered by the School of Arts & Science. Once students graduate from the AD program they can choose to continue their education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree and furthering their education. This program prepares students by providing them salubrious education in the field of science and providing them with the best kind of academic counseling.

Under the Associate of Science degree, students can gain valuable practical experience through an internship. This helps students gain professional experience and hence prepare them for the future. The Associate of Science program is a 60 credit points program and once students complete their degree they can transfer these credits and seek admission in a full-fledged program under several great British Columbia universities. 

The Rehabilitation Assistant program at Capilano University is offered by the School of Allied Health and is an undergraduate program that extends over a period of 2 years. The said program incorporates a number of important features which are to be followed by the students such as completing assigned tasks, use of appropriate language, time management, taking constructive feedback and inculcating practical skills necessary to fulfill the role of a rehabilitation assistant.

This is one of the few programs which combine occupational therapy, physiotherapy as well as speech/language audiology therapy. Rehab Assistants are mostly employed under acute care with the patients as well as at rehabilitation centres where the clients or patients need assistance in their day to day life. The age demographic of clients can be from infants to adolescents and can extend to elderly people. The Diploma in Musical Theatre at Capilano University is a three year long baccalaureate program that is exclusively designed for the students who wish to take up performing arts as a career option. This course provides students with ample practical opportunities throughout the 6 term long program. Students will refine performance skills in acting, singing, dancing, screen acting, audition techniques, voice-over and learn the business side of the profession.
