The Health Care Assistant (HCA) program combines theory courses, lab skills and clinical practicums in real-world health care settings. Students learn to provide personal care to clients and residents in complex care, specialized dementia care, selected acute care settings and in the community. Classes are taught by experienced health professionals who share their stories about clinical practice.

The HCA certificate is an 8-month full-time program offered in an accelerated program that students can complete in 7 months of study.

Capilano University has always offered its students one of a kind courses and degrees which are not available in many educational institutions. The Diploma in 3D Animation for Film and Games Diploma is a two year long undergraduate degree program which helps students direct their creativity in the field of animation and gaming. This program provides the students all the necessary knowledge and training to develop 3D computer generated characters and bring them to life.  

The computer graphics and animation industry is a very lucrative and fulfilling choice of career in the modern world and hence, students are prepared to face any challenges and trained in the best possible ways. Equal amounts of theoretical knowledge, practical demonstration as well as professional experience are provided to the students. Students are required to define and apply the concepts and production skills for professional quality animation from initial concept through final production. From designing their CVs and portfolios to internships and trainings, students are aided by the college officials in every possible way.

The Business Administration Certificate Program teaches students basic management skills that have practical value in a wide variety of jobs.

The program requires successful completion of one required business course, two specialty business courses and a choice of three business elective courses (three-credits each) chosen from the School of Business course offerings.

Credit from the certificate program can ladder into the Business Administration Diploma and/or the Bachelor of Business Administration.

Capilano University offers its students Associate of Arts degree which spans over a period of two years. The Associate of Arts degree is available in a number of disciplines of arts such as English, Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration, and Political Science and so on. A number of courses in the fields of science are also available under the Associate of Arts degree.

The Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology is a two year program with numerous courses in fields such as psychology, English and multiple other courses pertaining to the field of arts. Through this course students have an access to excellent academic advising and counseling services. In lieu of fulfilling the university transfer requirements students can choose psychology courses as electives. Once the students have finished this two year long program, they can transfer to a longer baccalaureate program at other British Columbia education institutions. The Associate of Arts - Global Stewardship is a two year long degree program provided by Capilano University which offers students a number of diverse career opportunities. This course gives students a number of career options to choose from such as local community development, journalism, teaching, politics, nursing and business as well as international development (NGOs and IGOs).

This one of a kind program prepares the students for a number of challenges in the future and the students are equipped with the knowledge to change the world. Graduating students have a vast array of options available, while some apply for an internship to gain further experience in the NGO sector others complete Bachelor’s Degrees in areas such as geography, political studies, international relations, anthropology, international development or social work.

• Execute basic film directing skills, including conceiving a visual strategy for telling a story using motion picture arts, working with actors, and leading a film crew.
• Design and produce sophisticated short independent films while employing protocols of professional film set procedures and advanced technical skills in a professional manner.
• Schedule and budget the pre-production, production, and post-production of short independent films.
• Have a basic understanding of cinematic history.

The Advanced Business Administration is a one-year certificate program. In this program, students will gain the basic management skills to start a business career or launch your own business. In the program, you'll take classes in many areas, including business law, entrepreneurship, small business management and marketing.

Upon graduation, you'll be able to ladder your credits into the Business Administration diploma or Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

The Diploma in Acting for Stage and Screen provides students with the skills necessary to begin a professional acting career in theatre, television and film.

The first year is comprehensive and introduces students to acting for stage and screen, improv, voice, movement, history, and backstage work. In the final two years of the program, students concentrate on performance and professional skills as well as directing, acting in film projects and in Theatre department mainstage productions. The ASAS faculty are professional theatre and screen artists so the combination of this comprehensive training and studying with working professionals will increase the chances of success for the graduates of this program.
