In the criminal and social justice diploma program, you will:

College of the Rockies - Cranbrook Campus provides undergraduate students a Diploma in Recreation Management which spans over a period of two years. Anyone who is interested in outdoor activities, tourism as well as community relationships, this diploma is perfect for them. Under this program students receive experiential and outdoor education. The faculty at College of the Rockies has designed a comprehensive curriculum, classroom interaction activities, class tours and work field trips with well educated, expert faculty members at the helm of the program, guiding students at every step of the way. The Recreation Management program helps prepare students to become leaders in the recreation and leisure services industry. The Social Work Pre-Major consists of courses primarily focused on social sciences and humanities. Completion of the two-year Associate Degree prepares you for competitive admission into Year 3 in a Social Work degree program at many BC and Alberta institutions. This pre-major provides the first two full years of study toward your four-year degree. Your social work courses will be taken in the final two years of study.

The Adventure Tourism and Business Operations (ATBO) program is ideal if you are passionate about adventure, sustainability, the environment and the outdoors and interested in working in the Adventure Tourism industry.

The name says it all. Get out of the classroom for some real, hands-on experience in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  This program is big on adventure but also focuses on those business skills you need to work in the tourism industry or to start your own tourism business, including entrepreneurship, marketing, sustainability and business training.

Your ATBO instructors are highly skilled guides in avalanche safety, rock climbing, mountaineering, whitewater kayaking, backcountry skiing, backpacking, canoeing, and sea kayaking.

Do you love the outdoors, want to make a positive difference in your surroundings, and want to gain a better understanding of the world? Employers are looking for environmentally responsible citizens who have a wide range of essential skills. The Environmental Studies certificate is designed to introduce you to those skills.

The Environmental Studies certificate is designed to allow you a degree of autonomy in your course selection. You will take a specific number of courses that deal with the environment along with options from a variety of subjects including geography, geology, anthropology and sociology.

This program is delivered in the classroom although a number of courses are also available online. Completion of the certificate may help you find employment in entry-level jobs or to move into further education to become more specialized.  We have transfer agreements with a number of Canadian universities. We recommend working with an Education Advisor when choosing courses for future transfer.

College of the Rockies - Cranbrook Campus offers students a unique undergraduate diploma in the field of human kinetics or kinesiology. This two year long program provides professional training and clinical skill upgrading for current and future practitioners of Kinesiology. A number of important subjects pertaining to human kinetics are studies under this program such as assessment skills related to peripheral and spinal joints; exercise prescription for both healthy individuals and those with chronic disease; communication and leadership in the context of ergonomics and disability management; business, ethics, and risk management related to kinesiology. 

Along with the top notch facilities and equipment for the students, this program offers a practicum placement that helps students in gaining practical knowledge pertaining to the field and gain firsthand experience with the clients. The said program is headed by a team of highly professional, expert faculty members who have abundant experience in the field of kinesiology. 

Engineering could be ideal for you. Our one-year certificate prepares you for competitive entry into year two of four-year Engineering degrees at either University of Victoria or University of British Columbia and may be transferable to other engineering programs as well.

Our Block Transfer agreement with University of Victoria means that once you’ve successfully completed your certificate at the College, you will receive full credit for engineering at UVIC and will be on equal footing with UVIC student when it comes to competitive entry into second year.
