College of the Rockies - Cranbrook Campus offers students a unique undergraduate diploma in the field of human kinetics or kinesiology. This two year long program provides professional training and clinical skill upgrading for current and future practitioners of Kinesiology. A number of important subjects pertaining to human kinetics are studies under this program such as assessment skills related to peripheral and spinal joints; exercise prescription for both healthy individuals and those with chronic disease; communication and leadership in the context of ergonomics and disability management; business, ethics, and risk management related to kinesiology.

Anyone who is interested in outdoor activities, tourism as well as community relationships, this diploma is perfect for them. Under this program students receive experiential and outdoor education. The Social Work Pre-Major consists of courses primarily focused on social sciences and humanities. Completion of the two-year Associate Degree prepares you for competitive admission into Year 3 in a Social Work degree program at many BC and Alberta institutions. This pre-major provides the first two full years of study toward your four-year degree. Your social work courses will be taken in the final two years of study.

If you’re looking for a secure career with good income potential and opportunity for growth that is also personally fulfilling, look no further. Dentists, hygienists and patients all rely on professionally trained Dental Assistants. In only 10 months, our Dental Assistant program can prepare you to write the National Dental Assisting Examining Board exam prior to registering with the College of Dental Surgeons of BC.

Our spring Preventative Clinic sees over 300 patients each year, providing you with plenty of hands-on experience. You will also take part in two three-week practical experiences in a dental clinic which will further prepare you for your rewarding career.

Are you passionate about exercise, sport, health, and human movement? Consider the Kinesiology program. Kinesiology is the study of the human body in motion and is a growing field that offers a variety of careers and educational opportunities.

All Kinesiology courses are delivered on a semesterized schedule from September to April of each year. Depending on availability of programming, some academic courses may be offered during the spring semester.

Most Kinesiology courses are delivered in the classroom with some available online. The one-year certificate transfers into Kinesiology degree programs throughout Western Canada. 

College of the Rockies, Cranbrook offers its students a four year long bachelor of business administration program in Sustainable Business Practices that is specially curated for students who wish to work on responsible and sustainable initiative in a business environment. This program addresses a wide range of environmental and sustainability issue such social risk identification, strategies for improving performance, sustainability issues and personal effectiveness to instigate and lead change. This diploma allows students to study economics, accounting, general management and marketing and develop more specific knowledge in sustainable business practices.

Along with face to face lectures students are also taught through online and hybrid courses ad well as practical, hands on experiences in laboratories. This program works two ways, it provides employment after completion of the aforementioned program and this program also helps in maintaining a green economy which is beneficial for generations to come. Students can work on developing their sustainability planning and reporting skills to help local businesses reduce their impact on the environment. 

This certificate program is delivered in a combination of face-to-face and online courses and is is awarded to students who successfully complete the one year certificate curriculum, a total of 30 credits.

The program is designed to prepare you for a potential career in the field of criminal or social justice or to further post-secondary education such as a bachelor degree.

In the criminal and social justice diploma program, you will:

• Study theories of human and social behavior, criminal justice system and cultural and institutional roots of crime and deviance
• Learn about oppression and marginalization and will further their understanding of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous knowledge
• Develop effective skills in cross-cultural relations, communication, conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
• Be provided opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills to further your post-secondary education or to prepare for a potential career within the field of criminal and social justice.
