Courses in this program are based on the Human Resource Professionals Association (HRPA) competency framework and meet the academic requirements for the HRPA designation.

Applying to the Co-op Stream:-

• All applicants apply to the non co-op program. Students will be informed of the application deadline and process to apply for the Co-op Stream. Labour market conditions determine co-op seats in optional co-op programs. Every student who meets academic eligibility requirements may not be admitted to the co-op stream.
• To be considered for admission to the co-op stream, students are required to achieve a minimum overall 85% session weighted average with no dropped or failed courses during the term that occurs two terms prior to the co-op work term.

• Co-op programs add value to your education. Earn while you apply what you learn in a real workplace environment. See the Co-op webpages for more details.
• The College cannot guarantee co-op employment. All co-op students are required to conduct an independent co-op job search in addition to the supports and services provided by the Department of Co-op Education.
• Students are responsible for their own transportation and associated costs in order to complete work term requirements. Work locations may not always be readily accessible by public transportation.

Business Analytics
The need for business analytics in today’s fast-paced world necessitates that employees possess the skills, technologies, and practices for continuous exploration and investigation of past business performance to gain insight into what happened and why. A well-trained business analyst will use the insights to help drive change and business planning within organizations. You will learn how to describe, interpret, and inform business decisions in specific areas of data-driven business. You will improve your data literacy skills and develop an analytic mindset that will help you make strategic decisions based on data. The Business Analytics Ontario College Graduate Certificate program focuses on two of the four types of analytics used in business - Descriptive Analytics and Diagnostics Analytics. Using these two types of analytics, you will practice summarizing data findings to communicate what is currently going on in business and help stakeholders see what contributed to the outcome of your findings.

Financial Technology

Through a combination of hands-on activities in our state-of-the-art shops and theory-based classes, graduates from the Motive Power Techniques - Truck and Coach Repair certificate program are well-positioned to enter and be successful working in this trade area. Throughout the duration of your program, you will develop a strong foundation of technical skills needed for the truck and coach trade.
You will develop safe working practices in the use of tools, machinery, and equipment to complete the repair of engines, transmissions, drive trains and electrical/electronic components, and will apply basic communication, documentation, information technology, and computer skills to support a motive power-related work environment. To round out your training, you will be introduced to the basics of running a motive power business and relevant legal issues.
As a graduate of the certificate program, you will have an opportunity to receive automatic exemption from Level 1 of the Truck and Coach Technician apprenticeship in-school training should you choose to pursue that career pathway.

• Assess and diagnose basic truck/ coach engine systems and components.
• Inspect and test basic truck/coach electrical, electronic, fuel and emission systems and components.
• Assess and diagnose basic truck/coach drive train systems and components.
• Inspect and test basic truck/coach suspension, steering, wheel-end assemblies and brake systems and components.
• Disassemble and reassemble components to required specifications.
• Test and inspect truck/coach basic hydraulics and pneumatics systems and subsystems.
• Use information technology and computer skills to access data concerning repair procedures and manufacturers' updates.

Students who successfully complete this certificate may apply to the second year of the Health Office Administration diploma with advanced standing.

Note:
Students that successfully complete the Medical Office Practices (1308) certificate program are eligible to apply to level 3 of the Health Office Administration (1047) diploma program. Space in the Health Office Administration program is limited and transfer applicants are not guaranteed a seat in the program. Depending on the number of applications and the number of available seats, a ranking process may be used.

With the current pace of construction in Ontario, there is a high demand for skilled equipment operators to support this industry. Completion of the Heavy Construction Equipment Operation program will position you for success in the industry. This program includes a significant amount of hands-on experience, safely performing basic maintenance and operating various pieces of large equipment at one of our two program locations (South Guelph or Brantford Airport). You will also be exposed to compact equipment and paving operations. This practical experience is complemented with related theory including environmental practices, soils, concrete and asphalt, surveying and site plans. By the end of the program, you will be well-prepared for success as you enter employment in the heavy construction and paving industries as an equipment operator. As a graduate of this program, you will have the opportunity to receive automatic exemption from all of the apprenticeship in-school training for the three Heavy Equipment Operator trades (Tractor-Loader-Backhoe, Excavator, Dozer) should you choose to pursue that career pathway.

This full-time, two-year, Ontario College Graduate certificate program will be of interest to graduates of engineering and engineering technology programs wanting to expand their theoretical knowledge by providing opportunities for complementary practical training and experience in a manufacturing shop learning environment. Through practical courses the student will be exposed to situations that arise in the workplace. Domestic and foreign trained individuals will benefit from this program's solid modeling, machining, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming courses (machining option) or blue print reading and welding symbols courses (welding option). In addition, applied learning opportunities include manufacturing shop projects and a capstone project which consolidates the theoretical and practical content. Upon completion, students will be prepared to make an effective start in supervisory or managerial roles in a manufacturing environment. The program helps to develop leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex manufacturing processes and teams effectively to meet business goals. It includes quality assurance, process and project management with a focus on meeting challenges in a production environment from operational and strategic perspectives. Graduates will have an understanding of advancements in manufacturing processes, communications, human resources and safety practices to be able to effectively contribute in today's manufacturing sector.
