Confederation College’s Welding Techniques certificate program gives you the knowledge and hands-on experience you need to get a start in this exciting and in-demand field. Using our conventional and state-of-the-art welding power sources, you’ll get practical experience in various welding techniques. You’ll also get the shop instruction required to work towards your four position Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certification – flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead – that most employers use as the standard for employment. Courses include basic arc welding, blueprint reading, pipe to plate, T-joints, basic metallurgy, pressure plate, and advanced welding.

Through Confederation College’s Environmental Technician two-year diploma program, you will learn to effectively manage natural and man-made environments. This program will explore environmental issues and provide hands-on tools for assessing, protecting and restoring ecosystems. Best of all, you’ll learn in one of the greatest natural labs available: the Boreal Forest, a rich and diverse forest ecosystem that stretches around the northern hemisphere. Confederation College’s two-year Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance Co-op diploma program teaches you everything you need to know to prepare for the Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license. Get the hands-on experience you need to maintain, repair and troubleshoot complex aircraft systems. Topics include aircraft construction and science, electrical and electronics, airframe systems and inspection, rotary wing (helicopter) maintenance and structural repair.

Confederation College’s Business Administration – Human Resources three-year diploma program continues where the two-year Business – Human Resources program leaves off. As with that program you’ll learn about accounting, marketing essentials, training, human rights in employment, business law & ethics and information systems. You’ll also take advanced courses covering statistics, grievance procedures & arbitration and international human resources. Your last semester will be dedicated to a work placement so that you get real-world experience that will give you an even bigger advantage on the job market.

Confederation College’s Pre-Technology program can help by allowing you to upgrade your skills and prepare for your future learning. The program is divided into two streams, the Technology/Aviation stream and the Trades/Pre- Apprenticeship stream, depending on what direction you plan to take.

The Trades/Pre-Apprenticeship stream is designed to upgrade your skills and knowledge for a variety of Confederation College trade programs including Carpentry and Renovation Techniques, Welding, Mechanical Techniques and Motive Power Techniques-Automotive. Courses cover topics such as applied math for trades, computers, trades science and writing strategies.

The Technology/Aviation stream is designed to upgrade your skills and knowledge for a variety of Confederation College programs including aviation, technology and technician programs. Class work includes applied math for technology, computers, technology studies or aviation studies and writing strategies.

The construction worker is the foundation of the structure business for private, business, and modern structure. Confederation College's Carpentry and Renovation Techniques one-year endorsement program will give you hands-on abilities alongside in-class figuring out how to give you a solid foundation in the Carpentry and Renovation fields. Confederation College’s Practical Nursing program is a two-year program with an emphasis on providing nursing care to stable, predictable patients across their lifespan.

Courses in the Practical Nursing program cover a wide variety of topics including foundational theory courses, nursing skills/procedures, pharmacology, pathophysiology (disease processes), nursing assessment, and clinical practice. Students will develop the nursing skills needed to help people at various stages of life (infant to older adult) and experience a wide range of exciting clinical practice experiences! Students who graduate from a Ministry approved Personal Support Worker Program may also have advanced credits in the Practical Nursing Program. Students who graduate from the Practical Nursing Program often set their sights on a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after completing the Practical Nursing Program.
