The Media Foundation program offers students the chance to explore a variety of media career options while developing the skills necessary to succeed in diploma and advanced diploma media programs. It includes courses in game design and development, photography and image manipulation, storytelling, audio production, interactive media and visual storytelling techniques.

The Portfolio class offered in semester two will help students create a portfolio, which can be used to submit for further studies in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Game - Art and Video Design & Production and other college and university programs requiring a portfolio for admission.

The Business – Accounting two-year diploma provides you with a solid background in basic accounting concepts and practices, as well as broad-based business skills related to accounting application software, spreadsheets and databases, economics, communications, law and taxation. Career Development Practitioner is a three-semester (one-year) graduate certificate program that prepares graduates to enter the career development sector. The program may also appeal to practitioners working in the field who want to gain additional formal training and job coaching experience. The career development sector includes non-profit/community-based, government, post-secondary and private/corporate organizations.

The key objective of the field is to assist clients to be self-sufficient in career exploration, skill acquisition, job search and maintenance. Career Development Practitioners coach and counsel others on:

Practitioners may work with specialized and diverse groups such as:

Students in the Business Administration – Project Management advanced diploma program will be prepared to manage project scope and change, project control, project staffing and risk management, provide motivation and goal setting, utilize project management tools and perform other functions in careers that incorporate project management or in stand-alone project manager positions. Graduates of this program will have demonstrated their knowledge, skills and abilities related to business in general and project management in particular.

The Concept Art for Entertainment program will train students to meet industry demand for concept artists and fine artists with a focus in entertainment fields. Strategically designed to provide specialized skills for graduates of Game - Art, Interaction Design and Graphic Design, the intensive curriculum emphasizes the development of artistic and direction techniques relevant to the industry, namely concept art production and visual conceptualization, in real-world scenarios.

Students will become proficient with production processes, defining art styles and drawing techniques by interpreting stories, character profiles and design documentation. Throughout their time in the program, students will assemble a personal portfolio, while designing and directing the art production for games and film. This experience will provide graduates with the necessary professional practices to enter the workforce or become entrepreneurs.

The Community Worker program is a two-year (four semester) Ontario College Diploma program that integrates local and global perspectives within a multi-level understanding of the historical, social, political, economic and systemic ways in which current issues have developed and are experienced by communities. Grounded within social justice and human rights, we provide students with the critical analyses, knowledge, skills and attitude required to work with a diversity of largely marginalized and urban-centred individuals and communities on a range of social issues.

If you want to work as a baker or pastry chef, this is where you start. This one-year certificate program will help you launch a career in baking and pastry arts. You’ll learn all the basics of pastry, cakes and decorating through hands-on training and classroom learning. You’ll also gain specialized knowledge in areas such as artisanal breads, chocolate techniques and fermentation, as well as menu management and nutrition.

The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas program prepares students to perform at a level that will assist them in gaining entry to a Health Sciences program at George Brown College, including Practical Nursing. It also gives students a basic understanding of social sciences and human relations. This helps them relate to people at college in further studies and at work in health care institutions or with health care providers. Throughout the program, students study biology and chemistry. Other courses include applied math, communications and general education electives.
