In Georgian's Event Management program, students gain the skills and experience to prepare them for an exciting career in a fast-paced industry that relies on client satisfaction. The curriculum, designed by industry professionals,enables students to explore current trends and technologies that drive the industry. Students have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience planning, marketing, executing and evaluating events. By the end of the program, they are equipped with the knowledge, skill, and practical experience to find employment in the event industry.

For students interested in managing people or processes, Georgian''s two-year, Co-op, Business program provides a solid foundation in the basics of business. Studies in economics, accounting, marketing, and human resources lay the foundation for a good start. Individual courses provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to get to work. This program can launch a career or can be a spring-board into further studies.

Graduates of this program will be prepared for exciting careers in the field of business. Students will develop the skills to research, analyze, and manage many aspects of business. Graduates will gain specialized career expertise, technical knowledge and skills, as well as practical experience that will enable them to start or further their specific career in business. Georgian''s three-year, Co-op, Business Administration program is as diverse as business itself. Required courses provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills for success in business and management. The broad range of choice in the third year provides the opportunity to tailor the diploma to unique career goals, including options in payroll, accounting, computers, advertising, marketing, logistics, human resource, entrepreneurship, international business management, leadership and the completion of external certification requirements.

The program curriculum incorporates theory applications and practical experience from the generation, distribution, utilities and automation industries. Concepts from the sciences and humanities are emphasized to ensure that the graduate is provided with current technical knowledge, skills, and practice.

This Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) accredited program, offers students advanced courses in electrical power systems, robotics, programmable logic controllers, networking, instrumentation and project management. Students gain hands-on experience in associated lab classes using state of the art hardware and test equipment.  These courses, together with experience gained in three coop work terms with industry partners, provide students with a broad technical background and a wide range of employment opportunities in the electrical industry.

In this program, students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism necessary to conduct applied research in sectors such as marketing, tourism, media, government, public affairs, education, health, non-profit and social service agencies. Students are provided with hands-on experience and focus on the entire research process. Students formulate research questions, develop research designs, collect information from primary and secondary sources, perform data analysis, interpret results, communicate findings, and develop strategic recommendations. Additional features of the program include an emphasis on traditional and emerging qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the use of technology, effective communication processes, and adherence to professional and ethical standards.

Students in this program prepare to work with engineers and construction project managers as part of a team constructing roads, bridges, sewers, water mains, and other infrastructure. Students determine data for cost estimation, perform materials testing, and assist in the administration of projects in the field. Teamwork and project-based learning are emphasized.

This program is common with the first four semesters of the Civil Engineering Technology program, and graduates may choose to continue into the third year of that program.

Interior decorating is the art of creating distinctive interior spaces that respond to functional needs and address aesthetic perceptions. Students focus on the use of space, beautification and furnishing of interiors and the documentation of design concepts resulting in an overall package that conveys a sense of place. Using a variety of formats including lecture, studio and lab, students complete projects to interpret client requirements and create innovative interiors. Students gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as real life experience through participation in a field placement in the decorating field.

This program is designed to prepare students for exciting employment opportunities in the $15 billion Canadian golf industry, both on the golf course and off. Theoretical concepts taught in the classroom are blended with practical learning opportunities gained through exposure to various golf facilities. At the golf course level, students examine the many aspects of golf operations such as agronomy, hospitality, retail and golf event planning. Away from the golf course, students have the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths at facilities that support the game. Students gain professional and managerial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as practical experience through participation in a work term and extensive field trips to golf courses and golf industry properties.

This program includes a co-op work term component where you will gain practical, on-the-job experience in your field.
