In this program, students gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to become marketing professionals who can effectively manage a range of tasks and functions within business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C), not-for-profit, and government organizations. Using a broad range of analytical and creative approaches, students gain a wide understanding of marketing management fundamentals as they focus on concepts related to advertising, promotion, public relations, marketing research and data analytics, online/digital marketing, and international marketing management. As a result, students gain valuable insight into all aspects of marketing from an online, local, and international perspective.

• Formulate a marketing plan that will meet the needs or goals of a business or organization;
• Develop an integrated marketing communications plan for a product, concept, good and/or service based on an identified market need or target;
• Formulate strategies for developing new and/or modified products, concepts, goods and services that respond to evolving market needs;
• Develop strategies for the efficient and effective placement/distribution of products, concepts, goods and services that respond to evolving markets;
• Evaluate the impact of using different marketing strategies for a product, concept, good and/or service, on the finances, Return on Investment (ROI) and business goals of an organization;
• Evaluate the viability of a concept, product, good and/or service in a local, national or international market;
• Conduct market research to provide information needed to make marketing decisions;
• Communicate marketing information persuasively and accurately in oral, written, graphic and interactive media formats;
• Plan, prepare and deliver a sales presentation or pitch that addresses the needs of the client;
• Develop strategies with clients, customers, and consumers and others to grow and maintain relationships;
• Develop learning and development strategies and plans to enhance professional growth in the field;
• Apply entrepreneurial strategies to identify and respond to new career opportunities that might include contract employment and self-employment initiatives;
• Participate in and contribute to a framework of organizational policies and practices, when conducting business of the organization;
• Apply the principles of business ethics and corporate social responsibility to business decisions;
• Employ the management techniques of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of marketing functions and activities in response to the business needs of the organization.

Through a blend of theoretical and hands on experiences, students gain the knowledge, skills, beliefs and values necessary to meet the Inter-Jurisdictional Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators as set out by the Federation of Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada. Students also participate in our public clinic and off site agencies, which allows students to assess and treat a diverse patient population. This program fosters the development of a well rounded, independent entrance level professional who will be able to meet the demands of a massage therapy practice.

Note: Applicants following the fast track will apply through OCAS using the major MASF. The Winter intake is offered as fast track only; the Fall intake is offered as regular and fast track.

In this program, students gain advanced skills in the use of environmental sampling, monitoring and testing equipment; data analysis; and information technology tools. They become familiar with applying the principles of ecosystem-based management for sustainability and develop the ability to manage environmental projects from planning through to implementation and maintenance. Through applied knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements, students contribute to risk assessment and environmental systems management. Students are provided an opportunity to apply their skills through partnerships in the community and stresses the need for designing and implementing systems to prevent, control and clean-up environmental contamination.

Students are introduced to skills and knowledge needed to succeed in recreation and leisure services. The curriculum includes: community recreation, outdoor adventure, arts, culture, heritage, leisure, fitness, retirement activities, life enrichment in long term care, adaptive-therapeutic recreation, facility operations, programming and event planning. Business administration fundamentals are incorporated with courses in marketing, accounting, technology, human resources, entrepreneurship and research. Experiential learning opportunities include a paid co-operative work semester, field trips, and participating in a number of events or programs working with children to seniors. Students gain proficiencies in leadership and group facilitation by designing, delivering and evaluating diverse, inclusive, relevant, environmentally sustainable recreation leisure and wellness initiatives.

Students acquire the knowledge and skills required to perform in the administrative health field. Students learn document production, medical terminology, transcription, electronic health records, human anatomy, as well as courses in communication and social sciences. Students have the opportunity for hands-on learning.

Initially, students in all Office Administration streams enroll in a common first semester. Eligible students in this program are offered the opportunity for office experience within the health services community.

This program offers the student an introduction to college studies, with emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills developed while studying courses in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies at either the college or university level. Students can also choose to continue from the one-year certificate to the two-year diploma in General Arts and Science.

Graduates of this program will be prepared for exciting careers in the field of business. Students will develop the skills to research, analyze, and manage many aspects of business. Graduates will gain specialized career expertise, technical knowledge and skills, as well as practical experience that will enable them to start or further their specific career in business. Business skills obtained in this program will enhance graduate employability and the individual’s long-term opportunities for advancement.

Students prepare for the role of oral health professional specializing in health promotion, disease prevention, and therapeutic care. Course content includes dental hygiene theory and practice, oral health and biomedical sciences, and the practical skills required for clinical practice. In addition, students learn the principles of professional responsibility and communication, health promotion, advocacy and evidence-based health care. Students apply theory to practice starting in a preclinical setting, gradually building the competence to apply skills in a client-care environment. Under supervision, students are supported while providing ethical dental hygiene care onsite in the oral health clinic and in the community. Students are prepared to work with clients and communities of diverse backgrounds and ages with varying degrees of oral health in a variety of settings.

In this program, students develop and foster creative and artistic ability in a variety of studio areas. Students are engaged and challenged to achieve their individual goals and objectives as artists within a variety of traditional and non-traditional media. Students experience both the practical and theoretical components of fine arts. Students gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for professional practice and self employment necessary to successfully operate within the various professions of fine art.

In this program, students engage in interdisciplinary problem-solving, combining visual sensitivity with skill and knowledge in the areas of communications, technology, and business. Students learn to structure visual information to aid communication in both print and web-based formats, and employ these skills in the creation of advertising, editorial, branding, and information design. The depth and breadth of instruction in design and technology is reflected in the portfolio developed in this three-year program, preparing students to take on more creative and independent roles once they enter the workplace.
