In this program students acquire an understanding of the general principles of law, and gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience in ethics and a small business practice. Taking the program prepares students to apply to become a licensed paralegal in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society Act. A licensed paralegal may be self–employed, offering fee for service legal assistance, without the supervision of a lawyer, or may be a salaried employee in various legal environments.

This program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to provide support services to people living at home, in long term care or acute care facilities, and to function as integral members of the health care team. Upon successful completion of this program, students learn to effectively communicate with clients, families and members of the health care team, and to provide safe and competent care for individual clients experiencing physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural challenges. Personal Support Workers (PSWs) are unregulated health care providers who work under the supervision of a regulated health care professional or in the supported independent living environment under the direction of the client.

In this program, students focus on networking, operating systems, system administration, virtualization, and security related to new computer networks and the maintenance of existing computer networks. As an official Cisco Networking Academy partner, certified instructors assist students preparing for industry recognized certifications such as the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching. Students gain experience in problem solving, and effective oral and written communications through examination of current industry trends and requirements. Students acquire professional and entrepreneurial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as real life experience through participation in co-op work terms.

This program is intended for students who wish to develop a strong educational and experiential base in business. Students acquire skills in acquisitions analysis, market research, selling, networking, financial analysis and planning, various computer applications and systems, social entrepreneurship development, human resource planning and management. Students also develop skills to integrate the whole area of business principles and practices in order to successfully operate and manage a business.

This program is particularly appropriate for students whose goal is to enter a family business, start their own business, or enter employment in a small business. One of the key experiential outcomes is the research, development and presentation of a complete business plan for a new enterprise.

This two-year program will give students a comprehensive education in the design theory and technical and aesthetic skills required by the jewellery and metals industry for entry level positions. The emphasis in Semesters 1 and 2 is on basic information and techniques as related to jewellery. Advanced jewellery techniques will be learned as well as hollowware and flatware in Semester 3 and 4. Note: Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the post-graduate diploma program of GLDS Goldsmithing and Silversmithing.

Graduates of the program carry out human resources functions within the domestic and international business environments. Graduates are prepared to implement and evaluate plans for staffing, performance management, training, employee and labour relations, health and safety, and benefits and compensation administration functions. They are also able to apply communication, information technology, teamwork, leadership and organizational development strategies to support the human resources activities of an organization. They are able to contribute to a number of more complex functions supporting organizational effectiveness, including applying principles of financial analysis and control, collaborating in the design of an organization''s human resources plan, and in the preparation of an organization''s business plan.

Students safely set-up and operate standard machine tools and complex machining equipment, such as CNC lathes and mills. Knowledge and skills learned are used to repair or manufacture components, assist with design of jigs, fixtures, tools, moulds and dies and perform troubleshooting to enact repairs on production tooling. Students use accurate testing methods to ensure accuracy of manufactured components.

In this program, students are introduced to the various functional aspects of business in general, and accounting in particular. Graduates are proficient in computer, communication, and mathematical skills and employ advanced management and financial management techniques to support accounting activities, including the maintenance of accounting records and the preparation and presentation of financial statements. In addition to the skills acquired in the two-year program, graduates are able to perform a number of more complex functions using analytical and evaluation skills to support management decision-making and collaborating in the design of an organization''s internal control system.

For students interested in managing people or processes, Georgian''s two-year Business program provides a solid foundation in the basics of business. Studies in economics, accounting, marketing, and human resources lay the foundation for a good start. Individual courses provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to get to work. This program can launch a career or can be a spring-board into further studies.

This program is designed to prepare students for exciting employment opportunities in the golf sector of the hospitality industry. Theoretical concepts taught in the classroom are blended with practical learning opportunities gained through exposure to various golf facilities in North America. Students are exposed to all aspects of golf operations from turf care and maintenance to the operation of retail outlets and golf event planning. Students also gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as real life experience through participation in a work term and extensive field trips to golf courses in Canada and the U.S.
