In this increasingly complex and competitive business environment, accounting skills are very much in demand.

The program provides a foundation in all of the functional business areas and a comprehensive education in specific accounting practices and theory. Through a strong focus on application, students develop the skills needed for success in the business world; analytical thinking, problem solving, communication and teamwork. Students graduate ready to enter the workforce and support the accounting activities of any organization.

The program curriculum incorporates theory applications and practical experience from the generation, distribution, utilities and automation industries. Concepts from the sciences and humanities are emphasized to ensure that the graduate is provided with current technical knowledge, skills, and practice.

In this program, students are provided with both the technical and visual communication skills required for a variety of careers related to photography and imaging. The three main areas of focus are digital capture, imaging technologies, and entrepreneurial skills. Students use industry standard hardware and software to capture and manipulate images in a way that demonstrates their skill and creativity. Students learn how to integrate digital imaging techniques with the fundamentals of photography in order to create images that communicate effectively and meet the needs of a client. Furthermore, students develop business and career development skills that are relevant to the digital photography and imaging industries.

Kitchen and bath design is a specialized service within the residential interior decorating and design professions. Graduates of this program will build on previous design education and experience to acquire industry standard skills and expertise applicable to the kitchen and bath industry.

Students assess client needs and focus on function-based design solutions and aesthetic, durability, and environmental considerations. This program covers technical documentation, specification conventions, fabrication methods, infrastructure issues, and relevant business practices.

This program offers the student an introduction to college studies, with emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills developed while studying courses in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies at either the college or university level. Students can also choose to continue from the one-year certificate to the two-year diploma in General Arts and Science.

This program is designed to prepare university and college graduates from a wide range of educational and cultural backgrounds to work as managers in international and domestic businesses of various size. Students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to manage the human, physical, and financial resources associated with international trade. The first year covers fundamental business knowledge and skills, while more complex international situations and strategic areas are the focus of the second year. The course of study promotes teamwork and leadership skills, and enhances students’ capacity to work effectively in cross-cultural environments.

As integral members of the legal team, law clerks work independently under the general supervision of a lawyer and assist with numerous tasks associated with the handling of diverse legal matters, including significant client interaction. In this program, students learn to draft legal correspondence and memoranda and prepare various court documents in practice areas such as real estate, corporate, estates, civil litigation and family law, utilizing current legal software to produce documents to professional standards. Students learn legal administration skills, substantive law, ethics and professionalism. Students engage in experiential learning through a field placement that reinforces and expands upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom. 

In this program, students gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to become marketing professionals who can effectively manage a range of tasks and functions within business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C), not-for-profit, and government organizations. Using a broad range of analytical and creative approaches, students gain a wide understanding of marketing management fundamentals as they focus on concepts related to advertising, promotion, public relations, marketing research and data analytics, online/digital marketing, and international marketing management. As a result, students gain valuable insight into all aspects of marketing from an online, local, and international perspective.

• Develop strategies for the efficient and effective placement/distribution of products, concepts, goods and services that respond to evolving markets;
• Evaluate the impact of using different marketing strategies for a product, concept, good and/or service, on the finances, Return on Investment (ROI) and business goals of an organization;
• Evaluate the viability of a concept, product, good and/or service in a local, national or international market;
• Conduct market research to provide information needed to make marketing decisions;
• Communicate marketing information persuasively and accurately in oral, written, graphic and interactive media formats;
• Plan, prepare and deliver a sales presentation or pitch that addresses the needs of the client;

Students gain occupational skills for employment in the construction and renovation industry. Students practice lot layout, concrete formwork, framing, demolition, renovations, interior and exterior finish and sustainable construction techniques. Theory and applications of safety standards, building codes, blueprint reading, energy efficiency, and environmental practices are studied. Students learn to interpret the Ontario Building Code as it applies to renovations and new construction. Focus is on the residential sector. Basics of entrepreneurship are presented.

In this program students acquire an understanding of the general principles of law, and gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience in ethics and a small business practice. Taking the program prepares students to apply to become a licensed paralegal in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society Act. A licensed paralegal may be self–employed, offering fee for service legal assistance, without the supervision of a lawyer, or may be a salaried employee in various legal environments.
