The Hairstylist program is offered over three consecutive terms, and provides students with a two-year Ontario College Diploma delivered in only 12 months. This pre-apprenticeship program includes 1,500 hours of hairstyling education: 510 hours of hairstyling theory and 990 hours of practice in hair cutting, styling, colouring and lightening, permanent waving, chemical relaxing and hair additions and trends. Students will also have the opportunity to study three general education courses.

A highlight and important aspect of the learning experience is the operation of the Salon & Spa at Lambton, a live practical lab where students practice hairstyling skills and salon business skills in preparation for salon management or ownership. Each week, students welcome clients into the salon and offer a variety of services. The array of services grows throughout the year as students develop their knowledge and mastery of hairstyling skills.

At any point, the student may be eligible to register at an apprenticeship branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development as an apprentice to complete 2,000 hours of in-salon apprenticeship hours. Once both components, in-school and apprenticeship (in-salon) hours have been satisfied, graduates are able to write the provincial Certificate of Qualification Exam for an additional fee. Upon successful completion of this exam they become licensed hairstylists. 

Lambton College's Electrical Techniques program utilizes applied learning combined with strong theoretical training to prepare students for a career in the extensive electrical field.

Working both in the classroom and in various lab and shop settings, students gain practical, hands-on experience in electrical fundamentals. In just eight months, students will be able to master the basic skills needed to help compete for employment as an electrical apprentice.

These skills go well beyond the minimum requirements to begin an electrical apprenticeship. After students earn their Electrical Techniques certificate, they can continue their education in related technology programs at Lambton College.

The Lambton College Biomaterials & Chemical Laboratory Analysis - Applied Science, Ontario College Graduate Certificate, two-year program provides focused, experiential education to meet the demands of the energy, advanced materials, cannabis and other natural health product industries. 

In this program, students study advanced concepts in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physics and mathematics applied to chemical analysis and complex problem solving in a hands-on laboratory environment.

Students conduct tests and develop solutions to problems in analyses of raw materials, products, or environmental samples, synthesize organic or inorganic compounds and prepare reports and technical documentation related to chemical analyses. Within the laboratory environment, graduates implement, coordinate and evaluate quality assurance and quality control procedures, in accordance with international and industry standards and government regulations. The program prepares students to analyze natural products, energy and advanced materials for quality and contribute to research and development.

The two-year Business - Accounting program is the first step towards a career in the rewarding field of accounting. Students receive a well-rounded education in business while studying all the important accounting and finance courses. Students will learn accounting theory and procedures, and use accounting software.

This program provides access to important accounting credentials that can be beneficial to career development. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to pursue CPA Canada's Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF) provided specific grade requirements are achieved. Students interested in becoming a bookkeeper may transfer their courses to the Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping.

This program allows for maximum flexibility, students can transfer into the three-year Business Administration - Accounting program at any time. After Term 1, students can move directly into Term 2 of the two-year Business or the three-year Business Administration programs in Sarnia.

The food industry finds itself responding to consumer demands for more refined, sophisticated, and convenient products with an increased responsibility for processors in terms of food safety and quality assurance standards. To help support the ever increasing demand to attract highly-skilled workers to the growing food and beverage processing industry in Ontario, the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Management, Ontario College Graduate Certificate program provides extensive, hands-on training for careers in food and beverage processing, safety and quality assurance. This four term, full-time program is designed for students with previous degrees or diplomas in related sciences, engineering or food safety, and will add to previous education and skills that directly apply to the food processing environment.

Curriculum focuses on principles of food safety and quality assurance standards applicable to the Canadian food and beverage processing industries. Food Chemistry and Microbiology, Food Safety Management Systems, Sanitation along with an in-depth review of Canadian and International Food Laws and Regulations are the core elements of this program. The program offers a unique blend of theoretical and practical knowledge including a co-op/project term to allow students to integrate in the Quality Assurance management team.

Graduates will have strong knowledge of food and beverage processing procedures, sanitation practices, HACCP principles, health and safety practices, food safety standards, as well as good communication, leadership and problem solving skills.

In manufacturing today, there is a continuous need for employees with highly developed skills in testing, processing, and quality assurance of materials. In addition, employers are looking for management skills to plan, implement and coordinate in manufacturing facilities. Encompassing many areas of science, including material science, chemical and material engineering and chemistry, and combining business management curriculum, the Lambton College Applied Manufacturing Management - Advanced Materials Processing, Ontario College Graduate Certificate program provides students with real-world experiences to learn and apply the knowledge and skills required to study the properties and behaviours of engineering polymeric materials used in a range of manufacturing applications in Ontario, Canada, and abroad.

In the program, students develop skills in applied material science and manufacturing. Additional courses include hands-on introductions to chemical analysis, material characterization, composites, nanocomposites and polymers. In addition, students learn the underlying theoretical principles in materials processing and additive manufacturing. Graduates are technically skilled problem-solvers with well-developed business, ethics, communication and analytical skills that can be applied to future careers in advanced manufacturing technology for a variety of industrial, government or consulting organizations.

Co-op students have the opportunity to apply classroom learning to the workplace. Co-op placement opportunities help students gain valuable work experience that may assist them in finding permanent employment after they graduate. With an ever increasing need for agricultural business employment, the Lambton College Agri-Business Management, Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is designed for students who wish to enter a career in the agricultural sector at the supervisory level, or to manage relationships in an agri-business environment typical of a sales or other agricultural services role.

In this multi-disciplined program, students utilize existing related education or experience to learn and apply a variety of skills to help operate and manage an agricultural business. Students develop a foundation of business skills, including communications, accounting, human resources, relationship managing and marketing strategies that apply to the Canadian agricultural industry of today. With the rapid adoption of agricultural technology, students study the impact of this technology on farm operations, as well as on other applications, from software to farm machinery.

To round out the learning, students study environmental farm management to gain a deeper understanding of the production of food, feed, and fuel as well as livestock physiology and health, pest control management and new and emerging agri-business technology. This hands-on program will include a real-world course on farm machinery to provide a robust understanding on farm equipment operations and safety.

Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics install, maintain, repair and overhaul residential central air conditioning systems, commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems. The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician Ontario College Diploma prepares graduates for entry level positions in Electrical, Refrigeration, Sheet Metal or Heating and Air Conditioning Industries. 

Curriculum follows the prescribed TSSA Gas Technician 3 and Gas Technician 2 syllabus, providing an opportunity for external certification. Graduates will also be eligible to write the external Refrigeration Handling Certification - Ozone Depletion Prevention. 

The Occupational Health & Safety Management Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is a multi-disciplinary program that is designed to encompass a broad range of knowledge in occupational health, safety and environmental management systems that are critical to an organizations success. This program provides students with a strong health and safety foundation by developing the competencies required for the effective development, implementation and evaluation of health and safety systems in occupational settings.

Emphasis is placed upon learning the application of legislation and recognizing, controlling and evaluation workplace hazards. This program will enable students to become leaders in health and safety by motivating proactive behavioural change. Students will anticipate and employ strategies to manage emerging health, safety and environmental issues while examining accident theories, emergency response planning, ergonomic principles, risk management principles and the promotion of workplace safety and wellness.

It is an exciting time to be a nursing student at Lambton College. Students work in Simulation Labs with both high-tech equipment and simulated patients (actors), providing students with learning experiences that are truly rewarding and unique. Lambton College prepares future nurses so they may enter the health care profession with both required knowledge and hands-on skills to be successful practitioners. Students will experience the importance of smaller class sizes and individual attention by faculty enriching the learning experience.

Beginning in the Fall of 2019, the collaboration embarks on a new curriculum designed to meet the evolving needs of the 21st century nursing student and future nurse.
