What you'll learn 

• Examine the Canadian health care system with an emphasis on the systems, supports, and tools used in the province of Ontario.  
• Develop, implement and evaluate digital health strategies and solutions that improve patient care. 
• Respond to the digital health needs of patients and internal stakeholders. 
• Recommend processes and procedures for maintenance and deployment of digital health solutions. 
• Design and implement digital health solutions in compliance with current security policies, provincial standards, and industry regulations. 
• Assess policies pertaining to privacy and security of personal health information and records including the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), and The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).  
• Apply data analytics principles to produce data visualizations and build predictive models of disease transmission and treatment outcomes in order to inform decision making. 
• Design and recommend telehealth and virtual care systems for safe and efficient remote patient monitoring and interactions. 
• Evaluate the use of digital health technologies for self-care and remote care.

• Graduates are prepared for a variety of careers including mechanical design, manufacturing, lean optimization, preventive & predictive maintenance, and project management.  The classroom, hands-on labs and co-op work introduce students to a variety of technologies including industrial robotics, automation, CAD, solid modelling, mechatronics and others.

What you'll learn

• Complete the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services required curriculum to become eligibility to write the security guard test and apply for licensing. (Optional provincial private investigator curriculum and test eligibility also offered).

• Develop health, fitness and stress reduction skills relevant to emergency service careers.

Explore opportunities in the service and maintenance of gas, propane and oil-fired technology.

Program Highlights

• Accredited by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA).
• Complete your training in one year.  
• Upon successful completion of each semester, you are eligible to write the Gas and Oil Burner Technician Provincial Fuel Certifications. You may write the examinations without acquiring additional workplace experience.

What you'll learn

• Fundamentals of home heating appliances that use fuel oil or natural gas.
• Experience the challenges in the service and maintenance of gas, propane, oil fired burners, furnaces, boilers and hot water heaters.
• Understand fuel delivery systems, set up and adjust combustion efficiencies, size ventilation systems and combustion air requirements. 
• Enjoy a practical lab to experience troubleshooting, combustion, electrical, fabricating piping systems and other related aspects.  
• The first semester prepares participants for testing and certification by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority as an Oil Burner Technician 3 (OBT 3) and a Gas Technician 3 (G3); providing eligibility on successful completion to write the Oil Burner Technician 2 (OBT 2) and Gas Technician 2 (G2) examination in the later part of the second semester. 
• Optional training includes fluorocarbon refrigerant, Ozone Layer Protection Awareness Certification, Gastite and IPEX certification training.

• Non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection techniques (magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonics eddy current, radiography). 
• Safety procedures for industrial radiation sources.
• How to evaluate the properties of materials from production to processing to detect defects. Use codes and standards from various industries as accept or reject criteria.
• Detection of material defects that could cause unreliable product or process performance or product failure.
• Visual inspection and quality assurance techniques used in the welding industry.
• How to use codes, standards and specifications to evaluate technical problems, related to manufacturing or field environments.

Students in the Quality Engineering Technician - Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) program will explore theoretical and practical on-site non-destructive inspection and testing techniques that enable examination of parts, equipment or materials in a way that does not impair its usefulness.

An excellent introduction to software development and supporting software applications, this program covers key topics including a variety of programming languages, web application development, systems analysis, database design, quality assurance testing, technical writing, and communication skills.
