Elevate your reading, writing, listening and speaking in English to a higher academic level in as little as 7 weeks depending on your skill level. English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Mohawk is a series of 8 levels of 7-week courses designed to develop students’ language skills from pre-beginner to college level English. Each level is 21 hours in length. The continuous intake program accommodates students arriving at different times throughout the year and is also for those who wish only a short-term academic language experience. At the higher levels of EAP, students have the opportunity to earn two post-secondary credits toward their diploma program. This program is intended for learners whose first language is not English and who want to pursue college level programs requiring English language proficiency.

• Examine the Canadian health care system with an emphasis on the systems, supports, and tools used in the province of Ontario.

The Preparatory Music program is designed to provide the foundation for successful advanced studies in music.

Students successfully completing our preparatory music program have repeatedly demonstrated greater success in their future studies in our Applied Music program, and other music programs across North America. Several successful musicians and even faculty members at Colleges and Universities across North America are graduates of our preparatory music program.

• An unpaid 140 hours field placement in an industry setting, taken anytime through the two-semester program
• Networking and learning from industry leaders through our guest speaking series, informational interviews, mock job interviews, and strong relationships with partners from the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)

You will graduate with a portfolio of materials and projects that demonstrate your ability to function at a professional level. Some students even find their first job in the field from connections made through our vast industry connections.
