The Steamfitter/Pipefitter trade is unique because it's the only one that specializes in the planning, design, and installation of low and high pressure steam systems and installation methods for each. They build, maintain and repair piping systems that carry just about anything that can be transported through a pipe: water, steam, fluids, gasses, chemicals, fuels, woodchips, etc.

This program will give you entry-level knowledge and practical experience required to pursue a career as a steamfitter/ pipefitter. You'll learn to assemble, install, maintain and repair pipes carrying water, steam chemicals and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems. Hoisting, lifting and rigging are also part of the curriculum. Trade theory and practical experience is supported by courses in communications and mathematics. Workplace safety is emphasized.

Plumbers see each water distribution and drainage system as an interesting challenge. They use hand and power tools to fix plumbing fixtures and install water systems. You’ll learn about hot water facilities and sewage systems, as well as how to assemble, install and repair pipes, fixtures and fittings. After learning how to interpret basic blueprints, you’ll have the necessary skills to layout a complete plumbing system according to specific building codes. Employment in plumbing is stable in every economic market and competent plumbers find work fast.

Applied Manufacturing Methods is a post-graduate program. The program offers a broad range of skill-based training in all aspects of manufacturing processes, including design, computer modelling, 3D printing, reverse engineering, quality control and quality assurance in addition to the skills in communication, documentation, computer application, information technology, critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork to support the manufacturing activities of an organization.
 
This program provides students with up-to-date manufacturing techniques and processes with a focus on computer modelling and supporting technologies. Students will further gain a strong understanding of contemporary quality control, quality assurance and continuous improvement methodologies, and safety practices and procedures. Through classroom theory and hands-on activities, students will learn and practice their skills using industry-standard tools and equipment. 

Electronics Engineering Technologists are always plugged in. They know how to diagnose and solve electronic system issues and develop best practices. You'll learn how to design, commission, test, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain and support electronic systems. During your second year, further specialization is available in communication systems and biomedical systems at our Saint John campus, and industrial controls at our Moncton campus. In the Electrical Construction program, you'll gain expertise in the design, installation, and operation of electrical systems. Following the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Building Code, you'll learn fundamental wiring practices, pipe threading and bending techniques, cable tray installation, and other necessary skills needed to start from diagrams and finish with a job done right.  When you graduate, you'll be ready to join the workforce as a registered apprentice in New Brunswick or another jurisdiction.
