In this three-year advanced diploma program, you will increase your knowledge of design and engineering principles. You will learn to apply theories of design, production and marketing to gain an understanding of the steps necessary to commercialize a design idea. This program shares a common first and second semester curriculum with the Mechanical Techniques (Tool & Die/Mould Making) program. It shares a common third and fourth semester as the Mechanical Engineering Technician – Tool Design. This concept of laddering allows flexibility and options to increase levels of education incrementally.

The Remotely Piloted Aircraft – Business Operations graduate certificate program will prepare you with operational and management skills for developing and sustaining businesses in a wide variety of industries. This includes agriculture, security, construction, mining, government, aerial photography, law enforcement, oil and gas, solar panels and cable power lines, etc.

This drones/drone flying program offers cross-disciplinary learning that includes leveraging business, entrepreneurial topics and flight operations including the study of law, privacy and ethics. Your experience includes flight training at AlteX Academy’s Drone Flight Field. When you graduate, you will be equipped with the ability to ethically and professionally utilize Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) to meet business goals, whether you choose to support an existing business or start a business of your own. You will also be able to ensure compliance with service guidance, company policies and procedures to support RPAS industry safety.

A capstone research project will allow you to investigate, plan and take ownership of an idea that would benefit the use of RPAS. In addition, the program will prepare you to write the exam for the Small Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Advanced Operations Transport Canada certificate, which is mandatory to operate any drones above 250 grams in Canada.

Work Experience

In this program, you will develop a diverse range of skills related to safety and emergency procedures, both on the ground and in-flight. You will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviour required to explore a rewarding career in the service-driven aviation industry. You will learn to perform a variety of functions, aircraft safety procedures and essential techniques to deliver an exceptional passenger experience.

The tourism sector is a large economic growth contributor in Ontario, Canada and the world. This two-year diploma program will help you establish a service-driven attitude and develop your business and entrepreneurial skills to create, promote and sell global tourism products and services. You will graduate as a specialist in tourism destination innovation and implementing exciting new tourism services.

You will develop business skills in marketing, sales and customer relations, negotiation, risk management, industry-specific global distribution systems, local and international tourism destinations and geography.

In semester two of the program, you can continue your studies in the Tourism – Services Management, Global Tourism Business concentration or switch to Travel Services. Switching is seamless with a common first semester in both programs.

Field Placement
You will complete 150 hours of unpaid placement in the fourth semester in one of the tourism and travel segments. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester courses before accepting a field placement position.

The four-year Honours Bachelor of Child Development degree program prepares you for expansive opportunities across the health, education, and social service sectors. Upon completion of this program, you will be able to pursue careers in family support services, recreation, early learning and education, infant mental health, and early intervention for children and youth with diverse abilities. You will also qualify to register as a member of the College of Early Childhood Educator and practice as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE).

With ongoing specialization, our students have achieved successful careers in assessment and counselling, child life, elementary teaching, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy. Like many of our graduates, you may choose to complete your Bachelor of Education or a Master of Arts. New for 2021: Seneca has launched the Flights Experiential Hub at Newnham Campus. This state-of-the-art training centre is the first of its kind among Canadian postsecondary institutions. It includes a B737 cabin simulator, an A320 door simulator, a mock airline interior cabin, and an aircraft evacuation slide, all to provide you with real-life learning experiences. While many of the program's courses remain online, they are balanced with opportunities to study on-campus, using authentic airline safety and emergency equipment in semesters two, three and four.

This program will prepare you to design, build, implement and maintain complex computer and software solutions that are efficient, reliable and secure. The degree’s emphasis is on artificial intelligence (AI) in solving software engineering problems. Courses focus on software engineering criteria in the areas of mathematics, natural sciences, engineering design and engineering science.  

Your studies will include two mandatory, co-operative, four-month work-integrated learning experiences — one between semesters 6 and 7 and another between semesters 7 and 8. In your final year of the program, you will choose from Professional Option courses such as robotics, parallel programming and computer vision. You will also undertake a substantial industry-driven group project.
