This program is ideal for those who know they want to work in health sciences, but aren’t sure which career path is right for them, or are currently underprepared for other health sciences programs. There’s a strong focus on academic advising to support your success, and you’ll be introduced to a range of possible career paths in the health sciences field.

What you'll gain
Through this program, you’ll prepare for further study by gaining the necessary background knowledge in biology, chemistry, mathematics and anatomy and physiology. Some of the college credits you’ll earn are transferable to other programs at Sheridan and may be accepted at other colleges as well.

Sheridan's Internet Communications Technology program provides an in-depth curriculum on the technologies of the Internet. The longest-standing Internet engineering undergraduate program in Canada, this program will provide you with a great deal of hands-on experience. Our grads specialize in network communications and security, and work for a variety of Canadian and global institutions.

Get an edge on the competition for apprenticeships
With so many people seeking plumbing apprenticeships in Ontario, two years of education can push you to the front of the line. In the second year of Sheridan’s Plumbing Technician program, you’ll learn advanced concepts that can save you hundreds of classroom hours during an apprenticeship. You’ll also put your new skills and knowledge to work in a field placement.

Earn Your Gas Technician 3 License
Plumbers are in high demand these days, and so are gas technicians. No other plumbing college program in the province provides gas technician training approved by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). Once you successfully complete your G3 gas technician courses, you’ll be qualified to hook up furnaces, water heaters and other gas-fired appliances.

Stand out from the field as a computer engineering technologist! Sheridan’s advanced diploma program builds on the two-year Computer Engineering Technician diploma by teaching you how to integrate software and hardware components. When you graduate, you’ll know how to design, build, test, implement and maintain embedded devices, computer applications and network systems.

Demonstrate your skills through a capstone project and co-op
Prove yourself to employers before you graduate! In your third year of studies, you’ll put your expertise to work in a capstone project that will be showcased to industry. You’ll also have the option of a three-term co-op placement, allowing you to graduate with one year of work experience. Some of our past students have secured employment as a result of co-op participation.

Work towards your degree or other certifications
When you graduate, you’ll have completed all academic requirements for professional certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. You may also be able to transfer into the third year of degree programs at various universities and colleges, including Sheridan’s engineering and applied computing degrees (some bridge courses may be required).

Work with the latest mechanical engineering technology
Sheridan’s labs are like no other in Ontario. Get a degree that prepares you to work with 3D printers, robotics, rapid prototyping, integrated energy systems including solar, wind, and geothermal energy, HVAC systems, water jet technology, advanced mechatronics system equipment and more. At Sheridan, we believe the best way to learn is to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on.

Gain a broad understanding of the tool making trade while building valuable hands-on experience
In this four-semester program, you'll receive both classroom and lab/workshop instruction at our state-of-the-art tool making facility. After the third semester, you may have the opportunity for on-the-job training, where you'll develop in-depth tool making skills and can potentially secure up to 2,000 hours of experience towards your apprenticeship.

Graduate with a diploma and apprenticeship exemption
When you graduate from this program, you'll receive an Ontario College Mechanical Technician diploma. You may also get credit for levels 1 and 2 of your apprenticeship in-school training requirements as part of this program. This would give you a great advantage as you work towards your apprenticeship.

Be part of an exciting and in-demand field. Our Community and Justice Services program looks at criminal justice through the lens of corrections and rehabilitation. Learn to work with individuals in the court system, during imprisonment and after release. After graduation, you may work as a correctional officer or help others re-enter society at a halfway house or other community agency.

Outstanding career preparation
Sheridan’s Community and Justice Services program gives you a strong foundation that gets you ready for the workplace. You’ll explore the social sciences, such as psychology, criminal law and criminology. You’ll learn through lectures, guest speakers and group activities. You’ll also have the opportunity to make connections with community agencies.

Field experience
The Community and Justice Services program has two practicum terms. You’ll first have an interview to talk about your career interests. Then you’ll do a field placement in a community and justice agency. You could work at an adult institution, youth facility, community agency or residential facility. These practicums can be a great path to employment.

Bring the worlds of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering together. After studying general mechanical engineering concepts in your first year, you'll focus on programmable logic controllers and robotics in your final two semesters. When you graduate, you'll be qualified to help design, install, maintain, operate, supervise and service complex electromechanical systems.

Get hands-on experience
Sheridan's approach to engineering education blends theoretical studies with hands-on learning opportunities. You'll work directly with automated systems and cutting-edge mechatronic applications in our laboratories. You'll also have the chance to work with your professors on applied research projects that provide real-world solutions for our various industry partners.

The two-year program focuses on technical and professional skills required to work in a variety of Health Service settings. You will learn to use specialized medical software, OHIP billing, electronic calendaring and scheduling, and communication software applications.

Medical Simulation or Field Placement
When you have successfully completed the first three terms and have met a prescribed GPA, you have the option of choosing either a Medical Simulation course or Field Placement (two days per week). Both options prepare you for entry-level administrative support positions in a medical office or setting. This is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience and evaluate different career paths.
