Co-op
The Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programs all include a one-semester internship where students will fulfill many of the program learning outcomes and become prepared for future employment. After the completion of a minimum of 60 credits, students may also apply to participate in the BBA Co-op program, which allows students to complete three additional work terms to a total of four work terms. Enrolment in the Co-op program is limited through an additional Co-op application process.

Co-op/Internship allows students to take ownership and responsibility for their own growth and development through practice in real-life employment environments. Our work terms are scenarios where students can apply their critical, creative, and reflective thinking in a way that maximizes their workplace experiences and preparedness for full-time employment after graduation.

Sheridan's BBA Co-op program has built-in flexibility for students to select their path and schedule for Co-op work terms, may lead to paid employment during the work term, and further supports students to develop their entrepreneurial thinking skills and capacity for responsible risk-taking in a complex workplace environment.

Teach English abroad with CELTA certification
If you want to teach English abroad, the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) may be your ticket. CELTA is known around the world, and many employers ask for it by name. Sheridan is an official CELTA Centre, accredited by the University of Cambridge. You’ll get the practical training that meets Cambridge’s high CELTA standards—and be certified when you graduate.

Teach in Canada with TESL Canada or Ontario with TESL Ontario
TESL Ontario sets the standards for ESL teachers in the government-sponsored sector and is perfect for those who want to teach in Ontario.  If you want to teach anywhere in Canada, you’ll need qualification from TESL Canada. When you successfully complete Sheridan’s program, you may apply for both your TESL Canada (Standard 2) certification and your TESL Ontario certification.

Teach English while you study
Get the practical skills to teach English to a range of ESL learners. In this program, you’ll observe experienced instructors, while learning current methodologies and developing your teaching skills and techniques in authentic ESL classrooms. You’ll also have a dedicated practicum course in both terms, where you may work with ESL students at Sheridan, newcomers to Canada through our Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program or students off-campus.

In your first term practicum, you’ll have an instructor for a maximum of 6 students, and in your second term practicum, you’ll have a mentor to guide and support you throughout your teaching.

Build an e-portfolio and gain PBLA (Portfolio-based Language Assessment) instruction
Sheridan's TESOL Plus program gives you the opportunity to create an electronic portfolio containing your assignments, lesson plans and other resources. You will also receive valuable instruction in PBLA, key content for school board and LINC employment which can put you ahead of the game for employment in all sectors. Upon graduation, you can show your e-portfolio, complete with PBLA content, to potential employers to highlight your skills and make yourself more marketable.

The Business Analysis and Process Management graduate certificate is affiliated with the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA). The program focuses on manufacturing, supply chain, financial services, and health care industries, in both the public and private sectors.

Co-op
Students in this program may apply to the Co-op program during their first academic semester. Enrolment in the Co-op program is limited through an additional Co-op application process that takes place in the first semester. Students in the Co-op program are eligible to complete a Co-op work term during the 4-month term following the second semester. Co-operative Education is a form of work-integrated learning that links classroom learning with paid or unpaid work experiences within a professional environment. Co-op work terms are related specifically to the academic studies of each student. The work terms provide an opportunity to learn by doing. You’ll apply theory to practice, develop a meaningful view of the working world, and cultivate an awareness of yourself as a professional.

Students receive in-class and 1-on-1 career education support to help prepare for the work term. The Co-op component is delivered by Sheridan’s Co-operative Education Office, which facilitates over 1800 Co-op/Internship work terms per year Sheridan-wide.
