Stand out from the crowd by specializing in one of three growing fields of computer science: game engineering, data analytics or cloud computing. You'll be introduced to each of these areas in your first year of studies. Beginning in your second, you'll take eight courses in the area of your choice. Each field requires specific skills not taught in traditional diploma and degree programs.

Not a computer expert? No problem! You'll begin with the basics in your first year, learning about computer programming, networks, mathematics, scripting and database modelling. More than 80% of our Computer Science degree curriculum consists of core courses designed to develop fundamental skills that will prepare you to work in all areas of computer science, both now and in the future.

Internship, co-op and applied research opportunities
At Sheridan, we believe the best way to learn is through hands-on experience. Between your third and fourth year of studies, you can work for our industry partners through a four-month internship or a paid co-op placement that can last up to 16 months. You can also sharpen your research skills by providing computer science support to any of Sheridan's various applied research projects.

Enjoy flexible pathways
It's always good to keep your options open. Our Computer Science degree shares many common core courses with our Mobile Computing degree, making it easy to transfer from one to the other. If you want to change specializations after two years, you'll only need to make up two courses.

The Performing Arts – Preparation program at Sheridan provides a comprehensive one-year introduction to the performing arts:-
Practical experience
Gain first-hand experience in a wide range of disciplines, developing core skills that can help you advance to a more specialized performing arts school. This hands-on performing arts program offers an opportunity to:

• Improve your performing, auditioning and technical production skills.

The world of entertainment:-
You'll get to try your hand at acting, singing, dancing and comedy (standup and sketch). You'll also learn about the business aspects of the performing arts industry, forming an ad hoc production company with your classmates to stage a show at Theatre Erindale. Throughout both terms, you'll make field trips almost every week to see live concerts, plays and other professional performances.

Performing Arts – Preparation employs high-calibre faculty with the same excellent standards of instruction, most of whom have extensive professional experience in the industry. Graduates are encouraged to apply for further study at Sheridan or other institutions to develop their specific areas of interest.

• Attend several professional theatrical productions throughout the year from the major theatre companies in the area — including Second City, Stratford Festival, Mirvish Productions, Shaw Festival, Soulpepper Theatre and Canadian Stage.

In Sheridan’s Craft and Design Glass Studio, you’ll be immersed in all aspects of working with glass in a supportive atmosphere.

Our Glass program takes an innovative approach to design, craft and contemporary art. In addition to glass-blowing courses, you'll be introduced to all the other ways you can work with glass: flame-working, sand casting, kiln casting, cold working and electroplating. Glory holes, furnaces, engraving wheels, cold working and flame working stations, kilns, electroplating equipment and 3D printers. • Sheridan’s Mobile Computing degree program offers diverse courses in computer science, software engineering, mobile development and wireless networking. You’ll cover fundamental areas of computer science such as operating systems and computer architecture as well as advanced topics like artificial intelligence and theory of computation.You’ll also learn to develop programs in many programming languages like C#, C++, Java, Swift, Python, JavaScript and others using industry-grade frameworks and tools.
