The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree offered through the Department of Business and Administration is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in business, in the private, public or non-profit sectors. We nurture socially conscience business leaders and entrepreneurs that are capable of adapting to the ever-changing needs of the modern business world.

The Business and Administration program develops critical thinking, analytic and decision-making abilities, oral and written communication skills, and the self-confidence to effectively apply these skills. Some courses in the program are taught using the case method, a simulation of real business situations from the perspective of the actual decision-maker. Computer-based simulations, experiential exercises, guest speakers, and field trips are also used to connect course material to the business world.  A new co-op work study program allows students to add career real work experience to their UW Degree. Welcome to the History of Art programme at the University of Winnipeg. We are a dedicated group of scholars committed to the study of art, broadly defined, as it reveals the past and informs the future. Drawing on the experience of our scholars, the expertise of local curators and a rewarding relationship with the local arts community, together we are able to deliver a strong, vibrant and practical curriculum focussed on excellence, accessability and innovation.

The objective of the Dance Program Steam is to prepare you for graduate equivalent training and /or professional work in performance, teaching, or choreography. This program is offered jointly with the Professional Program of the School of Contemporary Dancers; entrance to the Professional Program of the School of Contemporary Dancers is by audition. Once admission is obtained, you must also apply for admission to The University of Winnipeg.

Applied Biology focuses on the study of molecular and cellular biology, and is designed to address the need for qualified biotechnologists in Manitoba. You’ll develop the necessary laboratory skills required for the job, and the theoretical background to expand investigation, troubleshoot, or take a leadership role in the laboratory. Choose from either a traditional program or a co-operative option, which includes three to four paid work terms, for a total of 12 months on-the-job work experience.

The University of Winnipeg offers a combined degree/diploma program in Communications in cooperation with Red River College. Generally, students begin at the University of Winnipeg, completing at least 60 credit hours before proceeding to Red River, where they take the two-year Creative Communications Program. The final 12 credit hours of University of Winnipeg courses must be taken during these two years at Red River College if the student wishes to graduate within four years; otherwise, these credit hours may be completed before or after attending Red River College. Students are granted block transfer of 48 credit hours for their Creative Communications Diploma and granted a B.A. in Communications once they have received their diploma and completed the prescribed 72 credit hours of study at the University of Winnipeg.

Combining aspects of anthropology with biological and physical sciences, Bioanthropology program teaches you to examine human biological systems of the past and present. You’ll gain understanding of comparative anatomy, cellular biology, and methods in human and primate evolution as you obtain experience in current laboratory techniques and procedures

How do the brain and nervous system control behaviour? This program provides you with an understanding of the integrated relationship between biology and psychology. In Biopsychology you’ll develop a strong understanding of the structure and function of the nervous system as you explore the relationship between the nervous system and behaviour.

The three year major was designed primarily for students wishing to pursue a career in teaching. These students would take the required courses as per their chosen level they wish to teach in the school system (early, middle or senior years). In the third year of study, students would apply to the faculty of Education for a two year after degree. The student would have both a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and a Bachelor of Education.

Some students choose to use the three year degree as an entry level degree to other professional degrees such as the Master degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Medicine and Physicians Assistant program to name a few. You should be aware that a three year degree is less competitive than a 4 year degree and most universities now offer four year degrees only.
