Of interest to students who have a non-business degree and want to return to university for one or two years to acquire a specialty in a functional area of business. Students with a first degree in business, but who want to change their area of focus, may complete a post-baccalaureate diploma as well.

Power up your future as a software engineer today. Through our program, you will learn to apply engineering principles to computer software. You will gain technical knowledge and skills in how to design, develop, maintain, test and evaluate software. As you move through the program, your courses will include areas such as engineering, business, computing science and project management.

Software engineer grads do more than program. They bring creative solutions to manufacturing, transportation, health care, government and digital media. These sectors rely on computer tools and applications, which our grads manage.

Software engineering is the study of how software is built and maintained and includes project management and testing. Our students like the program’s practical, hands-on approach.

Co-op program:-
Co-operative education is a requirement of the degree. During your Co-op experience you will receive paid and relevant work experience, allowing you to apply theory learned in the classroom, explore interests related to the field of study and advance skills as a professional while strengthening your resumé. In the fourth year of study, students are required to complete two mandatory co-op work terms.

Our program is designed to meet the criteria of the Engineers Canada Accreditation Board. Graduates will meet all of the educational requirements for registration as a professional engineer through APEGBC. Up to 12 months of co-op work may count towards the work experience required for professional designation.

Students in the Visual Arts at Thompson Rivers University can have the best of two worlds: courses can be counted toward a Diploma and toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Arts with a Minor in Visual Arts, or other university degrees at the same time. The Diploma allows students to sample a diverse selection of different media, such as drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and multi-media to gain an introduction to contemporary art practices along with art history and theory. The Diploma is useful in a resume for job applications or entrance to academic programs that require some background theory and practice in visual arts.

Sociology, the study of human society, is a broadly based liberal arts and research discipline — one of the most diversified, interesting, and practical disciplines there is. Sociologists are devoted to the study of social groups and processes, using applied logic in combination with empirical research to ascertain “what is” and “what can be.”

We believe that it is the task of sociologists to conduct critical public debate about social institutions. We seek to contribute to that debate and equip our students with the skills to do so too.

Build a strong foundation in all aspects of biology before specializing in biochemical techniques, regulation of gene expression, biotechnology, and microbiology. The program involves extensive laboratory experiences.

Prepare yourself for a vital role in child care with coursework that provides a mix of child development theory and hands-on experience, in both on-campus and community-based childcare programs. ECE includes three semesters of study, with specializations in Infant/Toddler and Special Needs available in the fourth semester.

This two-year diploma program is designed to provide the theory and practical skills essential to begin a career in Resort and Hotel Management.

Courses in this diploma provide instruction in Hotel Operations, Food and Beverage Management and Hospitality Administration.
