The Faculty of Engineering offers a program leading to a Diploma in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, administered by the Dr. J. Herbert Smith/ACOA Chair. The mission of the program is to provide undergraduate and continuing education students opportunities to experience the realities of entrepreneurship and management in technology-based businesses and to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in business. The Diploma program consists of three core courses and two electives, totalling 15 credit hours. In selecting courses, students will be advised to develop a curriculum that builds skills in three key areas: business management, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

Up to twelve credit hours of required courses for the TME diploma can be shared as credit towards a degree. Each department shall determine its own maximum allowable concurrent credit hours, which may be less than, but no greater than twelve credit hours. Students who intend to complete the diploma must obtain both department and TME program approval of the courses which will be applied towards the degree and the diploma.

Applicants are encouraged to apply to the program as early as their first year of study and begin by taking elective courses. A minimum of 80 credit hours completed, or permission of the TME program Chair, is required to enroll in TME core courses.  Applicants who are not full-time students may still apply for the TME Diploma (or enroll in one or more TME courses). The study of English is about the appreciation of language at work.  English students explore the impact and possibilities of words as they form into narratives and speak through characters to wider cultural communities at home and across the globe.

Venture Analyst Leadership Program: If you are completing the Concentration in Venture Commercialization, Scaling and Investment, you can apply to be a Venture Analyst Leader and work with an entrepreneur or investor to launch a start-up venture.

Software engineering goes beyond programming.  It’s about developing, writing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software systems. It’s the foundation of all computer systems. In other words, our digital world depends on software engineering.

In UNB’s Software Engineering program, you’ll learn how to develop and maintain reliable, safe, affordable, and efficient software systems that satisfy customer requirements. You’ll also gain the skills and knowledge needed to work on large and expensive software systems that often have safety-critical applications.  

Software Engineering is a joint program in the Faculty of Computer Science and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The program is available as a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree.

Do you want to explore and understand the impacts of humans on the environment and of the environment on humans? Do you want to learn to use the scientific approach to solve environmental problems?

Navigating the complex issues involved is a challenge that requires a broad range of skills and perspectives pertaining to earth’s environmental system: its biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and geosphere. This type of training is brought together at the University of New Brunswick through our interdisciplinary programs in the environmental sciences.

The Music minor allows students from all Faculties to study music from the perspectives of theory, history, analysis, and performance. The program creates rich learning experiences for students interested in making music and for those primarily interested in learning about music.

The minor consists of 24 credit hours. Students focusing on performance will take at least 12 ch from performance and theory based courses, while students focusing on the history and appreciation of music will take at least 12 ch from courses in those areas.

Why Music at UNB?
With the minor in Music at UNB, students interested in music can group a variety of music courses into a cohesive program focusing on either music theory and performance, or music history and appreciation. Students intending to pursue careers in the arts will benefit from this addition to their degree.

Hands-on learning
Students in the Music minor can receive up to 3 credit hours toward their degree by pursuing private music lessons, and up to 3 credit hours for participation in the UNB Concert Band or UNB Chorale.

Psychology is the science of human thought, behaviour and emotion. All that we think, feel and do is a possible topic for psychological study. Psychology applies its knowledge to human activity in order to improve lives and alleviate suffering.

At UNB, we offer a broad spectrum of research areas in psychology, including: human sexuality, depression, feminist perspectives, Autism, women’s studies, internet and gambling addictions, gender and laterality, pain assessment and management, infant and adolescent development, cultural psychology, self-concept and identity, bilingualism and cognitive neuroscience.
