Cellular, physiological and pharmacological sciences is the study of the structure, function and development of organisms at the molecular, subcellular, cellular, tissue and organ levels. It investigates the functions and mechanisms of major systems of the human body and studies the effects and mode of action of drugs which modify major body systems.

What you will learn
You will study human anatomy, cell biology, neurobiology, skeletal biology, embryonic development, histology, and anatomical imaging. You will also study the properties of chemical compounds in relation to their interactions with living organisms and examine the basis for the discovery and study of drug actions either as therapeutic agents or as tools in physiological research. These fields can be used to advance medical science with clinical relevance to osteoarthritis, Alzheimer's disease, peripheral nerve damage and repair, multiple sclerosis, aging, cancer and pain.

Economics is the science describing the production and distribution of wealth. Business Economics provides you with a background in both economics and commerce, with special emphasis in economics, so as to prepare you for the world of business, finance, and public service.

Psychology is the study of behaviour and mental processes, and their relation to one’s physical state, mental state, and external environment. With the complexity of our modern world, psychologists play an increasingly important role in helping people.

What you will learn
You will discover how your brain works, study the latest methods of diagnosing and treating mental illness and learn about human development. You will study a variety of subjects including social psychology, personality, child development, human neuropsychology, memory, the psychology of language and abnormal psychology.

Civil engineers build our physical world - roads and buildings, bridges and tunnels, airports and subway systems, water and sewage systems. They may specialize in foundation analysis, building and structural inspection, surveying and municipal planning.

Environment and Society focuses on the interplay between humans and their environment including complex issues such as climate change, population growth, pollution, and management of natural resources faced by our modern society.

Through exposure to science, social science, and humanities perspectives related to the environment, you will develop an understanding of environmental science, resource management, environmental philosophy, policy, and environmental studies.

Bioinformatics combines biology, biochemistry, mathematics, statistics and computer science for analyzing and understanding the biochemical processes of life. If your passion is understanding biological processes, genetics, or diseases using biological information, this program would suit you well.

What you will learn
You will learn specialized computational techniques for storing, visualizing, and analyzing data generated from genome sequencing projects and technologies for determining gene expression and protein structures. You will be able to deduce information about an organism from its genome.

You will learn about religious approaches to some of humanity’s most timeless and urgent issues, such as the meaning of life and death, relationships, morality, gender and sexuality, ecology, social justice, war and peace. To understand how religions shape human experiences, societies and cultures you will study a range of world religions and religious experiences within cultural, historical, ideological, and current settings.

Animal bioscience is the study of animal metabolism, genetics, physiology, nutrition, behaviour, care, health and the social and environmental impact of domestic animals

What you will learn
Do you have an interest in domestic animals? You will have opportunities to learn through experience in working with animals. This program meets the pre-veterinary medicine requirements and prepares you to work in fields outside of traditional animal agriculture including biomedical sciences, companion, equine and research animal care, animal health and environmental sciences.

Chemistry focuses on what happens to matter at the molecular and subatomic levels. In other words, it is the study of how virtually everything in the world really works. Chemists are at the forefront of scientific discovery in a wide variety of fields such as medicine, drug discovery, nanotechnology, new material design and the environment.

What you will learn
You will learn how molecules interact, how and why chemical reactions occur and how to control these processes. You will learn how to find answers to important questions such as: how do we harvest light to make energy, how do we build molecules that cure disease and how do plants protect themselves from pathogen attack? Through appropriate course selection, you can specialize in analytical, bioorganic, computational, inorganic, organic, organometallic, physical or theoretical chemistry.
