What you will learn
You will be offered instruction in French language and literature, both in the original and in translation, and courses in the civilizations and cultures of France and French-Canada. You will study canonical writers and works of historical and global significance as well as Francophone writers and works from Saskatchewan and the prairies.

The College of Nursing offers three programs leading to the Master of Nursing (MN) degree: Professional Practice, Thesis, and Nurse Practitioner.

A student completing the Professional Practice or Thesis MN program will be able to:

• Articulate perspectives on nursing
• Critique, utilize and contribute to theoretical and empirical knowledge bases for nursing
• Develop, implement and evaluate strategies for advanced nursing practice at the client and system level
• Demonstrate leadership skills needed to influence change

Graduates will be able to assume:

• Leadership/advanced practice roles in health care
• Educator roles in service and educational institutions
• Research roles in terms of generation and utilization of nursing knowledge
• Further study at the doctoral level

Professional Practice Master's Program
Master of Nursing Professional Practice students are required to take 27 credits units of coursework. Courses are designed so students can complete them in less than two calendar years and are delivered using a combination of live web conferenced seminars (synchronous) or online delivery (asynchronous) distance learning within North America

Sociology is the study of human social life, focusing on developing an understanding of changes in social structure and human interaction on an individual, societal and global level.

What you will learn
You will examine human behavior and why people interact the way they do. You will focus on current social issues and the evolutionary changes of societies as you explore criminology and legal studies, race and ethnic relations, medical sociology, labour and education, agriculture and development, women's and gender studies, mass media and communications, and religion.You will also have the opportunity to develop skills related to research methods, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication.

Economics is the science describing the production and distribution of wealth. Business Economics provides you with a background in both economics and commerce, with special emphasis in economics, so as to prepare you for the world of business, finance, and public service.

What you will learn
This program will provide you with knowledge and the tools to comprehend, assess and analyze the many pressing issues and problems of individuals, businesses and society in an economic context.

The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree is a four-year program offered by the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business.
All undergraduate students admitted to the Edwards School of Business are required to complete a common first-year of studies. In January of your second year, you'll apply to a specialization in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Management, Marketing or Supply Chain Management.

Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management is delivery-focused, coordinating the end-to-end flow of an organization’s goods, information and money, and ensuring that an organization successfully turns inputs to outputs in an efficient manner.

What you will learn
The major prepares students to deal with the management of all activities directly related to the design and delivery of services, manufacturing and production of goods, and management of supply chains.
Supply chain management professionals are detail-oriented and constantly think about how to make processes more efficient.

Environment and Society focuses on the interplay between humans and their environment including complex issues such as climate change, population growth, pollution, and management of natural resources faced by our modern society.

What you will learn
You will take courses in a diverse range of topics including the following: hydrology, climatology, vegetation, geomorphology, public policy, political studies, history, philosophy, and statistics. Through exposure to science, social science, and humanities perspectives related to the environment, you will develop an understanding of environmental science, resource management, environmental philosophy, policy, and environmental studies.

The Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A. & Sc.) degrees are distinct degrees combining the science disciplines with studies in the humanities, social sciences, and/or fine arts.  These unique and highly completive interdisciplinary programs are focused in areas of high demand and allow students to make connections needed to succeed in these areas. Health Studies

• This program examines the issue of health and wellness, including mental health, from a variety of perspectives including how biological, cultural, social, and environmental contexts influence the health and well-being of the individual.

What you will learn

• You will learn about issues of health ranging from biological, psychological, cultural and environmental and how factors such as genetics, personality, attitudes and abilities influence healthy social and emotional development throughout the life span. You will study the role of cultural and community processes in health and healing and examine how groups interact with their environment in healthy and unhealthy ways.

Advance knowledge and understanding of human diversity and adaptation — past, present, and future — while seeking answers to the most vexing issues and problems affecting our species and our planet

What you will learn
Anthropology is the comprehensive study of human beings, past and present, in comparative, cross-cultural, and holistic light. Archaeology is a sub-discipline of Anthropology that focuses on the study of artifacts and other physical remains of past peoples in order to explore adaptation and cultural diversity over time. The Archaeology and Anthropology program at the University of Saskatchewan offers training that emphasizes the role of culture in past and present human behaviour and diversity, and that exposes students to human evolutionary, environmental, and social development and adaptation. The program demonstrates particular expertise in medical anthropology, environmental anthropology, applied (practicing) anthropology, anthropological archaeology, environmental archaeology, and bioarchaeology. We emphasize community-based and engaged learning, a commitment to reconciliation, and a broad disciplinary foundation in both anthropology and archaeology.

Physics is the study of matter and energy and how they interact. Physics helps us understand how the world, and everything in it, really works. Physicists study all aspects of nature—from the study of subatomic particles to the study of astronomical objects many times larger than the sun.

What you will learn
You will discover the particles that make up the universe and the forces with which they interact. You will learn about black holes, atmospheric phenomena, new materials, quarks and gluons. You will investigate such phenomena as the big bang, quantum mechanical paradoxes and superconductivities. You will experiment using telescopes, satellites, radar, tokamaks, synchrotron and particle accelerators, and conduct space weather observations and atmospheric ozone monitoring.

Management is the organization and coordination of business activities in order to achieve certain goals and objectives. The major is designed for those students who seek a business education and do not wish to narrow their focus to a specific functional area.

What you will learn
Students within the Management major have significant flexibility to take a collection of courses from accounting, finance, human resource management, marketing, management and supply chain management. This wide breadth of knowledge gives you an ideal understanding of the strategy needed to achieve overall organizational goals and objectives.
