Optometry is the science of dealing with issues and problems related to the eye. A course in Optometry covers every aspect related to understanding the eye, problems, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of illnesses and diseases etc. MM(DU) follows the Ministry of Health guidelines and offers lateral entry in Degree course to diploma holders in Optometry in the 3rd semester to balance the gaps in diploma programs. The program covers both clinical and theoretical aspects. Students would get in-depth understanding and training to treat Cornea, Glaucoma, Low vision and Retina.

It’s a branch of engineering which deals with processing of raw material, production, quality re-evaluation, packaging, storage and transportation, until and unless it is safe for consumption. It is a specialized course that helps the students gain an in-depth knowledge of the concepts of Food chemistry, Food Engineering and Food Preservation. This is a highly industry-specific course.

Course Objective

• To make students aware about the concepts of Food chemistry, Food Engineering and Food Preservation
• To give them in-depth knowledge off methods of assessing Life Cycle Nutrition, Food Processing and Food Preservation
• To apply theoretical concepts in laboratory setting as per standard methods in the above mentioned areas and Food hygiene and Sanitation
• To understand the applications of Food science in Food safety, Clinical interventions, Food Packaging and Processing
• To help the students acquire skills to undertake systematic research and maintenance of quality in the area of Food and Nutrition

A Masters’ degree course for students who seek real- time exposure and specialization in managing operation theatres, Intensive Care Units (ICUs), and Emergency Wards where anaesthesia is indispensable!
During the course term, the students are exposed to every single aspect including anesthesia dosage, equipment, agents, patient- monitoring, and real- time operations.

Pharm. (Quality assurance) is a two-year duration course designed to meet the specific needs of ever-expanding pharmaceutical industry, research organizations and academic institutions with special emphasis on the quality management system and regulatory submissions. The department of Quality Assurance is equipped with the state-of-art laboratories, ultra-modern facilities and competitive staff, which have been considered as most sophisticated infrastructure in the country.

 The focused research areas of the department are

• Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetic studies
• Development of analytical and bio-analytical method and validation
• Pharmaceutical materials science including crystal engineering and crystal structure manipulations of drug molecules
• Quality Management System of pharmaceutical industry
• Expertise in preparation and submission of dossiers.

Department is situated on ground level of the Dental College which helps it to work in close association with departments of Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery for patient’s diagnosis and treatment planning. It imparts education and subject expertise on dental anatomy and oral histology as well as oral pathology to under-graduates and post- graduates through first three years of their training for BDS degree and also higher education to budding oral pathologists.

Master of Physiotherapy program offered by MM (DU), Mullana is designed to meet the international standards and is recognized by the IAP. The program is taught by a qualified faculty and has a balanced exposure of both academic and clinical training in the field of Physiotherapy. The curriculum is enriched with basic medical sciences, study of various disorders of human body, basic and advanced principles of physiotherapy, assessment and physical therapy based treatment approaches. MM(DU) offers B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), a dedicated course that helps the students evolve as Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist. An MLT is an important part of Medical team with full knowledge of diagnosis, prevention and timely treatment of diseases through clinical laboratory tests. As a professional, you would play a key role in identifying abnormalities in the samples such as malignancies, pathogens, or genetic abnormalities.

BASLP, Bachelor of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology, is a four-year programme that covers every aspects related to techniques and methods used in diagnosing and curing hearing, speech, and balance-related disorders amongst individuals. Disorders related to speaking and listening are studied in-depth in this course and then students are trained to treat these disorders and facilitate recovery of the patients.

The undergraduate degree in Nursing is to provide an educational programme through which the graduates will be prepared to assume responsibility in the primary, secondary, and tertiary care of people as professional nurses. It is expected that graduates are capable of teaching and supervising appropriate nursing and health care in different setting and participate in the administration of nursing service and education. This programme provides the basis for the masteral programme in nursing.
