Master of Technology in Chemical Engineering with Specialization In Process Automation is an industry-oriented program training the students in chemical process automation. The students will be provided hands-on training and skills ins process automation, Advanced process control, process optimization etc., which will make them industry ready.

The program has been designed in such a way that it imparts knowledge on regulation, financing, trading, business development, and analytics. After pursuing the specialization, students will be able to analyse global and Indian energy, and power markets. The students will also be able to work out optimal scenarios for development and investment besides evolving an organization strategy and a project specific marketing and financial plan.

Aerodynamics is the science of moving air and its impact on solid bodies placed in the flow field as an obstacle. Being a sub-field, most of the equations from fluid dynamics apply to aerodynamics as well, including all the governing equations, turbulence, boundary layer theory, and ideal gas assumption. Racing cars and wind turbines are examples of technologies outside of aerospace in which aerodynamics engineering play a prominent part. Aerodynamic engineering often uses a mix of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), wind tunnel work and ultimately flight-testing to achieve a solution. CFD is widely accepted as a key tool for aerodynamic design. Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) solutions are a common tool, and methodologies like Large Eddy Simulation (LES) that were once confined to simple canonical flows (isotropic turbulence in a box, channel flow), are moving to complex engineering applications.

Internet of Things will generate a large amount of data daily. The reciprocity of such huge amount of data in the form of text or image or audio can be beneficial for both Big Data Analytics and IoT systems. This makes IoT useful for companies that rely on data analytics to improve their systems. Students looking for a long-term career in this field will find abundance of jobs when they complete their course.

Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Process Design and Intensification is a specialization in Chemical Engineering to be launched in 2021, which deals with process designing as well as its intensification. Process design is the backbone of any chemical process industry, be it paints and polymers or pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals. The designing of equipment, their placement in a process, designing and developing the flowsheets and finally improving the design to reduce operation cost and improve efficiency (intensification) becomes the base of any chemical process. The students will get a hands-on training and expertise in courses like Process Design, Process flow-sheeting, Process intensification, Chemical Engineering safety along with all basic chemical engineering courses. They will also be trained in software like ASPEN, MATLAB, PROSIM etc. which will allow the students to be industry ready.

This specialization introduces blockchain and cryptocurrencies and benefits to industries such as banking, finance, healthcare, real estate and software. This program is developed to give students a practical and theoretical knowledge of information security issues in various industry sectors and help them to develop secure applications with an in-depth understanding of blockchain concepts, designing and developing automated smart contracts, implementation of industry specific blockchain models and frameworks, and protection against attacks.

This specialisation explores the complex legal issues arising out of international banking, trade, and business from the standpoint of both transactional perspective and dispute settlement mechanisms (litigation and arbitration). Particularly oriented towards practice in these fields, the modules have a distinctly international and comparative dimension whilst at the same time drawing strongly on the rich tradition and experience of Indian law.

In present time, when we exercise immense Computing power which is still growing rapidly, undergraduate students can take great benefit by implementing various computational tools and techniques. Also, computational tools can be used in several areas starting from simulating various systems for the prediction of properties at micro/ macro/ nano level to development of new materials for the betterment of the life of the mankind to drug development etc. Computational techniques like Material Modelling, Drug development, Computational Chemistry are not only very reliable, but they save both money, time of the user. With Science expanding its horizons towards the areas like Machine learning, Data Science, Decision Science etc, the graduate students should be well prepared for utilizing these efficient computational techniques. UPES School of Design’s Postgraduate Programme in Interaction Design trains students to research, analyze, prototype, and design concepts in business, social, and cultural contexts within existing and emerging technologies.
