Biosimilar is that branch of study which deals with study of drugs that are very similar to original product, but not identical. They are not generic drugs and do not possess the same active pharmaceutical ingredient, yet comparable to original reference drug in terms of quality, safety and efficacy. Biosimilar are alternative potential therapeutics but not generics. For biosimilar products, the manufacturing process requires a high level of monitoring and testing.  

At UPES, B.Tech. Biotechnology students with a specialization in Biosimilars will be made familiar with existing regulations, manufacturing sciences and distribution practices of Biosimilar products in India and all across the globe. Students will learn about controversies associated with Generic drugs and need for development of Biosimilar products. Students will also learn how a drug is discovered in a lab, followed by testing in clinical trials and then launched in the market for commercialization.

This integrated specialization further offers students a chance to choose between two MBA specializations:

• Biotechnology Product Management

UPES provides a unique and focused Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc program with specialization in analytical chemistry. The specialization equips students with extensive knowledge allowing them to opt for various careers in academics, industries and research fields. Students who are enrolled in integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. with specialization in Analytical Chemistry program, can enhance their skills related to evaluation, measurement, and interpretation of scientific data. The plethora of research area among the faculty members provides an understanding of different future oriented aspects of chemistry.  The Laboratory courses are designed to offer comprehensive knowledge and hands on experience on sophisticated techniques. The last semester of the program is dedicated to dissertation work making students aware about the application of concepts on real-life challenges. M.Sc. (Physics) specialization in Material Science is a two-year program which aims to equip students both with the advanced concepts in Physics as well as hands on training in synthesis and characterization of novel materials, finding applications in myriad domains including but not limited to health, sanitation, defense, clean energy harvesting (solar cells, fuel cells, hydrogen storage, etc.), aerospace, semiconductors industry, etc. Students will also get an opportunity to learn Computational Materials Science, in which they will be equipped with various simulation software/techniques and advanced numerical algorithms to simulate materials via computers. Students taking admission in this program will have opportunity to work with faculty members having exceptional academic and research credentials in theoretical and experimental materials science. Students will also have access to state-of-the art material synthesis and characterization instruments installed in the campus. 

Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Legislative Law (BBA + LLB) is a five-year integrated dual degree course which provides an integrated study of management studies and legislative law in an entirely independent manner.

This course is designed to train students in the intricacies of law as well as financial markets, making them proficient in all basic law subjects such as constitutional law, criminal law, and international law. In addition to these, it has an in-depth focus on laws related to banking, finance and insurance, the pillars of modern economies, and regulatory bodies related to these fields such as Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), Competition Commission of India (CCI), and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

UPES School of Design’s Under Graduate Programme, B.Des. in Animation and VFX prepares students with a strong grounding in design, video and audio skills, alongside modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, digital cinematography, digital color grading, and 3D digital graphics. The course modules also cover motion graphics and virtual studio skills, alongside compositing, 3D tracking, particles, and dynamics.

The program imparts knowledge of general management and at the same time encompasses sectors such as climate change, sustainable development, corporate sustainability, global standards, and environmental ecosystem management.

Logistics sector needs professionals for managing demand, procurement, transportation, production, warehouse, retail, and distribution operations. Considering this rising requirement of the market, the program was launched in the year 2011. It intends to provide support to industry 4.0 with a balanced content on Procurement, Materials Management, Global Supply-Chain Management, Multi-Modal Transportation, Retail, Logistics Information System, and Spreadsheet Modelling.

This course introduces the essential general programming concepts and techniques – such as Boolean, numbers, loops, function, debugging, specifics of R and Python – to students without prior programming knowledge. On completion, students will be able to identify the dataset characteristics, select and implement the machine learning techniques, and solve problems having high data dimensions and rapid data generation rate along with scalability issues. ?
