UPES School of Design’s Under Graduate Programme, B.Des. in Transportation & Mobility Design gives students access to a High-Performance Visualization Lab for real-time 3D visualization of products, Rapid Product Development Lab equipped with Rapid Prototyping, Laser scanner and Laser cutting machines. The Master's Program in Automation and Robotics Engineering is an interdisciplinary programme composed of mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering and mechatronics engineering. Robotics is increasingly prominent in a variety of sectors (eg manufacturing, health and remote exploration of hostile environments such as space and the deep sea) and as autonomous and semi-autonomous systems that interact with people physically and socially. It covers important aspects of modern robotics such as autonomous systems, field robotics, artificial intelligence, Machine learning, computer vision, mobile robots, and Rehabilitation robots, embedded systems, modelling and control systems. The program engineers will develop an enhanced skill in the field of dynamics and control technology for complex systems and processes. Over the next decade, robotic assistance will become a reality in almost every field of work and most other aspects of human life. The advanced robots led to a substantial increase in productivity, decision making, increase the efficiency of the system. The program provides top-quality expertise and skills for successful professional careers in research, technology development and design. This integrated program is focused on innovative research training in the field of microbiology to pursue a career in industry, academic or government research laboratories. The program offers specialization in Food Microbiology, Biochemical processes and Analysis besides minors in diverse areas such as Engineering, Computer Science, Management, Law, Design and Media.

Computational material science involves exploration of material structure, properties and behaviour using modelling, simulation, theory or statistics. It is a wide field that encompasses computational techniques that can simulate electronic structure of materials, explore materials at different length scales: nano, micro, meso and macro scales, predict the structure based on thermodynamic stability and accelerate discovery of novel materials with desired properties. A student opting for this specialisation will get exposed to these techniques and will gain an in-depth expertise on any one technique through the dedicated project work.

The course is a concoction of the study of commerce and law. By completing this integrated course, a student can learn about two different professional fields. The specialised law course, in its five-years duration, equips the students with the knowledge of both commerce and legislative regulations as a comprehensive concept.

This is a five-year program that offers domain-specific subjects ranging from Making of the Indian Constitution, Jurisprudential Approach to Constitution to Comparative Federalism, and Legislative Relations. Drawing heavily from the rulings made in the Supreme Court, it is designed to preserve the relationships between state and federal governments and protect the rights of the individual. Furthermore, it enables the students to become better citizens by sensitising them about concepts that are the basis of a civilised society.

Integrated (B.Des) - (M.Des) in Fashion Design introduces students to a combination of traditional craft techniques with digital technologies to transform concepts from two-dimensional fabrics into three-dimensional forms. The programme covers all aspects of the design process, from trend analysis, research and design development, drawing and illustration, colour and fabric development, historical and cultural studies, translation of ideas from 2D to 3D through to presentation, marketing and business development.

In this specialisation, apart from essential concepts such as data structures, algorithms, OOPS concepts using Java and python, databases, software engineering and design processes. Students will also obtain an in-depth knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence by implementing relevant real-world problems in a wide variety of application domains such as robotics, computer vision, natural language processing, etc. Students will be experienced in machine learning pipeline, data models, algorithms, and empirics.

UPES School of Design’s Under Graduate Programme, B.Des. in Interior & Retail Space Design imparts in-depth knowledge and professional training in both residential and commercial interior design projects. The curriculum includes modules on space planning, furniture, creative lighting, interiors, design management, art and craft, materials, building technology, the art of show home design, sustainable design and much more. The programme also lays emphasis on retail branding, visual communication and merchandising with a focus on customer experience.

The reciprocity of such huge amount of data in the form of text or image or audio can be beneficial for both Big Data Analytics and IoT systems. This makes IoT useful for companies that rely on data analytics to improve their systems.
