The Graduate Diploma in Management allows you to add a specialisation in management with elective options in international business, human resource management, logistics and more to further your career. The Graduate Diploma in Management is ideal if you are seeking promotion in your existing employment, wish to widen your skill and knowledge base and keep ahead in the knowledge game or if you are considering a career change, including self-employment.

• This program is made up of five compulsory courses and two elective courses.

Arm yourself with the tools to become a leader in the hospitality industry by understanding the values, practices and quality systems that define successful hospitality businesses. Develop key skills by learning how to analyse and evaluate hospitality and tourism operating environments, sustainable destination management (kaitiakitanga) options, and how to effectively apply staffing strategies to create a flow of positive staff relationships and a well-run team. You will also learn how to manage the customer experience, and how the concepts of kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga can be applied to your industry, allowing you to create distinctly New Zealand experiences.

This program builds upon the knowledge and skills gained in the New Zealand Diploma in Arts and Design (Level 5), and pathways onto the third year of the Bachelor of Arts and Media. During this program you will complete four compulsory courses in:

• Advanced Critical Studies (Lab and Project)
• Professional Practice (Lab and Project)

Get started with Postgraduate study and pathway onto the Master of Applied Management. NMIT offers a Master of Applied Management pathway qualification. The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management is the first 10 months of the 15 month Master of Applied Management. You will complete the four core compulsory courses from the Master of Applied Management, plus four elective courses of your choice. This program aims to enable students to enhance their applied management skills and knowledge by focussing on more specific and in-depth aspects of management. The range of elective courses aim to provide options that will complement a range of particular professional experience and career aspirations.

The Diploma in Beauty Therapy will offer you stimulating studies in advanced facial therapy, electrolysis and advanced body treatments. Add these skills to a knowledge of anatomy and physiology, cosmetic chemistry, and practical work experience, and you will be qualified for a range of beauty therapy roles.

This qualification will give you the skills you need to apply for your Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) Mate Fishing Vessel - Unlimited Certificate of Competency (COC). The program will give you the skills you need to gain your MNZ Mate Fishing Vessel - Unlimited COC, allowing you to work as Mate of a fishing vessel of 24m or more in length in any operating area at sea. On completion of this qualification return after 12 months and gain your Skipper Fishing Vessel – Unlimited certification to get the skills for your Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) Skipper Fishing Vessel - Unlimited COC. This programme contains all the training and supplementary certificates you will need for your COC. Including STCW basic safety training, advanced fire fighting, PISC and rescue boats, GMDSS Radio Operator.

This program will provide you with specialist knowledge, as well as technical and practical skills relating to aquaculture.

The program was designed with industry so you will graduate not only with the practical skills and knowledge in aquatic ecology and marine conservation biology but also communication and operations management skills so you can make an immediate contribution to the aquaculture industry whether locally, nationally or internationally. The program provides you with flexibility through elective study options to choose the area, such as marine conservation or business, that you would like to study.

NMIT offers a Master of Applied Management pathway qualification. This qualification can be completed full time over 15 months, or part-time over a longer period. This Level 9 qualification brings together theory, applied practice and research, tailored to your needs and your industry.
