Through this three year program you will develop a wide range of skills and knowledge related to Animation and Computer Generated Imagery (CGI). This program is designed to give you the skills you need for employment in the CGI industry, and in the creative and cultural sectors, or in other sectors where CGI is used. You will gain experience using industry-standard animation and CGI software and processing for projects.

This program is designed to give people who already have a degree or extensive business experience an opportunity to extend their knowledge into the field of management without having to complete another degree. The Graduate Diploma in Management allows you to add a specialisation in management with elective options in international business, human resource management, logistics and more to further your career. The Graduate Diploma in Management is ideal if you are seeking promotion in your existing employment, wish to widen your skill and knowledge base and keep ahead in the knowledge game or if you are considering a career change, including self-employment.

• This program is made up of five compulsory courses and two elective courses.

This program will provide you with specialist knowledge, as well as technical and practical skills relating to aquaculture.

The program was designed with industry so you will graduate not only with the practical skills and knowledge in aquatic ecology and marine conservation biology but also communication and operations management skills so you can make an immediate contribution to the aquaculture industry whether locally, nationally or internationally. The program provides you with flexibility through elective study options to choose the area, such as marine conservation or business, that you would like to study.

This qualification will give you the skills you need to apply for your Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) Mate Fishing Vessel - Unlimited Certificate of Competency (COC). The program will give you the skills you need to gain your MNZ Mate Fishing Vessel - Unlimited COC, allowing you to work as Mate of a fishing vessel of 24m or more in length in any operating area at sea. On completion of this qualification return after 12 months and gain your Skipper Fishing Vessel – Unlimited certification to get the skills for your Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) Skipper Fishing Vessel - Unlimited COC. This programme contains all the training and supplementary certificates you will need for your COC. Including STCW basic safety training, advanced fire fighting, PISC and rescue boats, GMDSS Radio Operator.

If your aim is to become a professionally qualified counsellor, this is the program for you

After completing this program, you’ll be able to enter the counselling profession at a beginning practitioner level. Practical placements are an essential part of the program and you’ll spend time working in community agencies and organisations. Once you’ve graduated, you’ll be able to apply for provisional membership of a relevant professional body such as the NZAC, Te Wh?riki Tautoko, DAPAANZ or NZ Christian Counsellors Association. You’ll have developed the skills and professional attributes to enable you to work collaboratively within this increasingly complex and interdisciplinary sector.

This qualification is an approved training program for MNZ Watchkeeper Deck (or IMO STCW II/1 Officer of the Watch) is part of Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT). At IMINZ we offer a range of qualifications for both entry level and experienced seafarers.

The Bachelor of Arts and Media programme provides the fundamental skills to enable graduates to move into personal practice or embark on a career in arts and design.

Grounded in academic and technical excellence, you will learn the effective use of visual language by developing extensive knowledge in painting, graphic design, animation, photography, digital video and illustration.

You will develop fundamental skills in your first year through various compulsory courses, including lens-based media, graphic design, object design, image-making and communication, and critical studies.

This degree program is offered by AUT at the Nelson Campus and is available to graduates of the Diploma in Applied Fitness and the new New Zealand Diplomas in Sport, Recreation and Exercise. After completing the NZ Diploma in Sport Recreation and Exercise.

The courses that make up this program are all relevant and applied so you are constantly learning information you can apply to your work on graduation. The degree does not contain specialisation, however in your third year you will complete a big project that reflects the area of sports and recreation you are interested in. Class sizes are small providing more contact with your tutors than at larger institutions and you will make good friends with your class mates. With this program, you’ll work closely with adventure operators to gain experience in the adventure tourism industry. NMIT has conveniently located a short distance from three awesome National Parks (Kahurangi, Abel Tasman, and Nelson Lakes). While there are a number of classes on campus, you will also often be out and about hiking, rafting, rock climbing, sea-kayaking, skiing, snowboarding or canyoning.
