This one year program is designed to build on scientific knowledge gained from your previous degree level study and give you practical experience to work daily in a marine environment. The Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Aquaculture will give you an advanced theoretical understanding and the technical and practical skills related to sustainable aquaculture practices. It will provide you with the skills to critically assess aquaculture systems. As part of an internship or in your existing employment, you will also complete an industry research project. This program is a significant part of the Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) training requirements for students to gain the internationally recognised Standards of Training and Certification of Watchkeepers (STCW) Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch Class 3 certificate of competency. The blended delivery of the program also contributes to your employability by enhancing your core transferable skills; particularly digital literacy, problem solving, communication skills and team work.

Arm yourself with the tools to become a leader in the hospitality industry by understanding the values, practices and quality systems that define successful hospitality businesses. Develop key skills by learning how to analyse and evaluate hospitality and tourism operating environments, sustainable destination management (kaitiakitanga) options, and how to effectively apply staffing strategies to create a flow of positive staff relationships and a well-run team.
