Architectural Technicians use their construction and drawing knowledge to make building designs become a reality.

They produce drawings and documents that enable pricing, consenting, and construction of domestic and commercial building projects. They also create architectural models and specifications and may be involved in administering construction contracts.

Students in this program will learn to prepare fully detailed drawings and specifications for the construction of buildings, both manually and using CAD packages.

Students will be equipped to work as an architectural technicians in small-to-medium-scale building projects.

After an additional period of suitable experience, students will be able to work on larger and more complex building projects.

What you will learn

Year one includes documentation for small buildings, materials and structural principles, construction for small buildings, feasibility and environmental impact.

Year two includes construction for medium and large buildings, design in the built environment, virtual design, and construction.

Students will study a range of modules that will teach them to:

• Research, prepare and communicate design and construction documents for small to medium scale projects
• Assist with researching, preparing and communicating design and construction documentation for large or complex building projects
• Assist with general practice management
• Demonstrate oral, oral, and written communication skills in both formal and informal styles
• Demonstrate social, legal and cultural contextual knowledge

The Bachelor of Applied Management degree is designed for those with a drive to succeed in business, with a practical focus and a flexible structure. Students choose from a range of majors and elective modules, gaining a broad range of business skills, specialist skills, and work experience in their chosen major.

Human Resource Management

Make a career out of being a 'people person'. In this major, students will gain the essential skills needed to get the most from a team of workers. Students will learn about staff management, recruitment, team member performance, up-skilling and development, and resolving workplace conflict.

This program is for those with a degree in another subject who want to progress their career into human resource management. Students will develop specialist skills in staff management, recruitment, employee performance, employee up-skilling and development, and conflict resolution. This program includes a work placement and research project.

All modules in the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management are compulsory.

Students in this program will learn theory and technical knowledge in a range of natural and physical sciences. Students will also learn a range of practical skills, laboratory methods, and the soft skills necessary for further studies in the field of science. Areas of study include chemistry, biology, microbiology, food nutrition, and environmental sciences.

This program is highly practical. Alongside learning theory, students will spend time in the laboratory developing the practical skills that are useful in the workplace.

In this program, students will gain a strong foundation of knowledge across a broad range of different information technology skills, as well as an advanced level of expertise in a selected specialisation.

Students will undertake core modules that cover the fundamental skills required for a career in IT, for example, software engineering, database architecture, web development, business analysis, communications technology, operating systems, systems administration, and network engineering. Students will also gain practical, industry-aligned skills that employers demand from our graduates as well as new and emerging fields including cloud computing, big data and analytics, DevOps, business intelligence, agile development, web and mobile app development, games development, AR/VR, intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, and security.

Our degree is also designed to provide students with a broad skill-set and holistic understanding of the wider context of the IT business domain and the global IT industry, as well as specialist knowledge in a specific area. Technologies and tools used within the degree are ever updating but currently include python, C#.net, Visual Studio, Java, Android development, MS Server, Active Directory, Unity3D, Unreal, Cisco, Fortinet, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Laravel, PHP, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Power BI, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, and much more.

Students in this program will learn the knowledge and skills to deliver quality information technology services and develop effective communication skills to support and enhance various organisations and industries.

Students can choose to specialise in one of the following five specialisations:

Network engineering
For those seeking a career in the field of network engineering, network administration, cyber and network security.

Software engineering
For those seeking a career in software engineering, software development, big data and analytics, mobile applications development, and software testing.

Web development
For those seeking a career in web design/development, web applications development, and mobile applications development.

Students in the Bachelor of Design programme will develop their creativity, innovation, and design capabilities to find new ways to visually and strategically solve challenges for brands and organisations.

Spatial design
Students will develop designs focusing on functional interior spaces and design fundamentals that span across both residential and commercial disciplines while learning the skills needed to thrive in the industry, including pitching to clients and overseeing a project from start to finish. They will learn:

• Design fundamentals for residential and commercial spaces
• People and communication skills to pitch to clients
• Construction knowledge and project management strategies

This programme will assist practitioners in gaining advanced knowledge and skills to effectively manage the demands of rapidly changing, and increasingly complex health and social care practice environments.

Accounting:

In this pathway, students will learn the theory and practice of accountancy, critical thinking, decision-making, and business analysis. The course also includes financial reports and business tax regulations. Before they graduate, students will complete an accounting project for a real business as their final assignment. There are two accounting pathways to choose from - the non-CAANZ/CPA pathway, which has greater flexibility, or the CAANZ/CPA pathway, which allows the potential to become a chartered accountant.

Students in the Bachelor of Design programme will develop their creativity, innovation, and design capabilities to find new ways to visually and strategically solve challenges for brands and organisations.

Visual communication
Students will add value to brands or organisations by creating artwork and graphic designs for digital media, magazines, brochures, advertising, packaging and products. They will learn:
