The aim of the User Experience Design MSc course is to equip you with the behavioural theory, design practice and technology know-how that is necessary for a career as interaction designer, usability engineer, user researcher, or head of user experience. It focuses upon the analysis, design, prototyping and evaluation of multimedia, multi-modal, and multi-platform user interfaces that are easy to use and support a great user experience.

Each taught module guides students through a UX project – to optimise an interaction, to innovate a digital lifestyle, to create a persuasive product, and to collaborate on the development of virtual reality. Each project provides opportunities to analyse, design, prototype and evaluate cutting-edge technologies, follow industry trends and apply contemporary theories. A final "capstone" project completes the student's portfolio.

This course was developed in consultation with our industry panel, which includes Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, DreamWorks and Samsung Design Europe. Kingston University is an active member of TIGA, the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) and supports the User Experience Professionals' Association (UXPA UK).

With very few budding writers making a living from writing alone, this course offers creative writers the chance to learn not only the craft of writing, but also current trends in publishing from world-renowned professionals. It offers the opportunity to develop a creative writing portfolio at the same time as getting to grips with how the publishing process works.

You'll benefit from teaching staff who have practical experience of working in publishing and/or creative writing industries, attend a series of masterclasses across the disciplines and work on live projects for Kingston University Press.

We have exceptional links with major publishers, such as Hachette Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury and Macmillan; and you will have the opportunity to enter your work into competitions sponsored by The Bookseller magazine and Faber and Faber. There are also opportunities to work on live projects for Kingston University Press.

This course will provide a broad understanding of disease processes and their diagnosis, linked to in-depth studies of haematology or medical microbiology, together with some detailed exploration of management practices. The programme is designed to link academic knowledge with the practical applications of biomedical science and management, and will prepare you for a career in biomedical science management or small business development. Taught by researchers, expert practising biomedical scientists and business managers, there is the opportunity to undertake a project with internationally-acclaimed research teams. In addition, key features of the course include:

• Skills to enhance employability are embedded within the curriculum to maximise job opportunities in a wide variety of biomedical science careers, including hospital and commercial laboratories, research, teaching, management and sales.
• Teaching on the course is research-led and research-informed to ensure that all students are aware of the latest developments in biomedical science.
• Research projects can be carried out within one of our research groups or as part of an industrial placement.

This course offers key skills in pharmaceutical analysis, including measurement, scientific practice, evaluation and interpretation of data. You will study recent trends in analytical science and techniques and be introduced to pharmaceutical technologies, such as formulations and clinical pharmacokinetics. Through your research project, you will develop valuable research skills. Past projects have examined areas such as determining caffeine and its metabolites in human serum samples using GC-MS, and synthesis and use of compounds as probes for biochemical reactions.

This course explores current trends in chemical, biological and biotechnological therapeutics and examines the latest technologies in the pharmaceutical industry. You will gain an understanding of processes used in clinical trials and in the development, manufacture and regulation of medicines. Through an independent research project, you will study an area of interest in depth. Examples of projects include: medicinal chemistry (eg. synthesis of anti-cancer compounds and natural products), pharmaceutical technology (eg. optimisation of tablet manufacture and formulation), and clinical pharmacy (eg. pharmacovigilance, clinical trial and medicines regulations).

Are you passionate about sport and exercise? Would you enjoy a career where you worked to improve people's sporting performance, fitness and health? There are increasing opportunities for sports scientists to work with athletes or conduct research.

This hands-on course studies the science that underpins sports participation and how the body's performance can be improved. Topics include anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition, physiology and psychology. You'll learn to monitor and assess health, fitness and performance.

You'll be able to tailor your studies to your own interests and career goals. There is an option to study sports injuries and a project/ dissertation on a selected topic.

With a full programme of workshops and critical study, this Creative Writing MA offers you the chance to work on your own writing in different genres with the support of published practitioners.

The Writers' Workshop module will encourage you to develop your writing 'voice' through engagement with fellow students across a range of genres (in fiction or creative non-fiction), while the Special Study module enables you to specialise in one genre, such as fiction, non-fiction, poetry or drama.

This Creative Writing MA will give you the knowledge and confidence to enter the cultural debate and to begin to identify outlets for your own writing.

Digital media defines our times and helps shape our lives. This course will help prepare you for a career in this exciting, ever-changing sector.

You'll gain an understanding of the fundamentals of media, 2D and 3D computer graphics, programming, motion graphics, UX design and visual effects.

You'll create sophisticated media-based products, such as animations, moving graphics, compositing, 3D modelling, texturing, lighting, interactive web content and filming. Through option modules, you'll be able to pursue your chosen specialism.

Chemistry is a dynamic, multi-faceted subject. This integrated masters course places emphasis on research alongside developing your laboratory, practical and professional skills.

You'll study polymer and industrial chemistry and analytical chemistry. A research project will enhance your skills in experimental design, critical analysis and problem-solving. You'll also develop your understanding of inorganic, physical, organic and medicinal chemistry. Additional modules will expand your skills for interpreting the results of modern spectroscopic investigations.
