Pharmaceutical science can benefit and transform patients' lives. Spanning the worlds of chemistry and biology, it discovers, develops and analyses medicines. If you are considering a career in the pharmaceutical industry, this course will give you the knowledge and practical skills for success.

This course explores drug discovery, pharmacology, toxicology and examines the most effective ways that medicines are manufactured, packaged, stored and administered. You'll take part in innovative research, including new methods of drug delivery and drug synthesis.

At the end of Year 1, you may apply to transfer to the MPharm course (dependent on your academic performance and an interview). Transfer is to Year 1 of the MPharm course.

This course, one of a suite of digital media courses, enables you to study professional digital media practice in a microstudio environment with a focus on the design skills necessary for the field of games development. Through a student-centred, project-based curriculum, you will work as a games designer to develop your specialist skills while working as part of an interdisciplinary team with students from across the full programme.

This course will provide a broad understanding of disease processes and their diagnosis, linked to in-depth studies of haematology or medical microbiology, together with some detailed exploration of management practices. The programme is designed to link academic knowledge with the practical applications of biomedical science and management, and will prepare you for a career in biomedical science management or small business development. Taught by researchers, expert practising biomedical scientists and business managers, there is the opportunity to undertake a project with internationally-acclaimed research teams. You'll learn C++ and C# programming languages, use game engines, such as Unity and Unreal, and develop games for PC, mobile, tablet and the Sony PlayStation 4. Studies include the use of artificial intelligence in realtime strategy, race and first-person games as well as educational games. You'll also learn the computer science that underpins programming, such as requirements analysis and design and network communications.

You'll be able to participate in Game Jams, working in a team over a 24-hour period to create games and attend optional trips (such as the PC Gamer Weekender).
