Practising in the dynamic field of specialist sports care, you could find yourself working with elite athletes or running your own sports therapy business.

This pre-registration MSc is designed to provide sports scientists and relevant degree holders with the necessary knowledge and skills to become a qualified sports therapist.

You will study the theories which underpin the practical application of sports therapy. You will have access to the University's specialist resources and be able to draw on the considerable expertise of our sport and health academics to further hone your knowledge.

You will have the opportunity to apply your learning and sharpen your practical skills on several placements. You could refine your expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of injuries working in a private practice, with the University's sports teams or with elite-level athletes and professional sports clubs.

Designed for those already experienced in managing projects, as well as strategy implementers and makers, and those who wish to enhance the success of their projects, this accredited course will equip you with skills in decision making, motivation and the development and delivery of successful business strategies.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Focus on the latest issues in strategic project management, discovering better ways to manage projects
• Critically analyse and prepare effective strategies that will benefit organisations and their stakeholders
• Evaluate approaches to strategic implementation through programme and portfolio management technique

The successful achievement of an organisation’s strategy is now increasingly dependent on the effective delivery of projects and programmes that have recognisable benefits to a wide range of stakeholders. Project managers with strategic thinking and planning skills are therefore becoming key in a range of organisations and sectors.

This course will equip you with the skills to critically analyse and prepare effective strategies that have the potential to add significant value to an organisation and its stakeholders.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Focus on three main areas: programming and software engineering; art, concept and asset production; and game design studies, practice and theory
• Take products from an initial idea through the design, visualisation and technical implementation stages

We are also members of industry network, Game Republic, where past students have won awards from industry judges in the Student Showcase Competition.

Final year students also have the opportunity to showcase their work in front of leading employers at the end of year degree show. You can see some of their work in the Leeds School of Arts Festival. Previous years have seen many of our students gain job offers through the showcase opportunities.

You will consider issues such as gender, poverty, employment, human rights and the role of civil society and community participation in decision-making and governance. • Study poems, plays and prose narratives in their historical and cultural contexts
• Discuss and debate the different ways texts can be interpreted
• Embrace a wide range of theoretical approaches
• Cover a diverse range of texts, from the literatures of Romanticism through to the contemporary, and British and American Literature of the twentieth century to the postcolonial literatures of the Caribbean, India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Australia
• Work directly with leading literary researchers to develop your own creative and critical voice

  Leeds is the Northern heart of culture and the arts. Your campus sits in the very centre of the city, surrounded by museums, art galleries, theatres, film production companies and recording studios. We work directly with Leeds museums and galleries and many regional events, including the Ilkley Literature Festival and the Leeds West Indian Carnival.

  Our location has enabled us to develop relationships with employers and cultural industries in the city and across the region. Past students have completed placements in the editorial team at Hallmark Studios and with Peepal Tree Press, an internationally-renowned publisher based in the city.

Nutrition plays a key part in the promotion of good health and the primary prevention of diet-related illness in communities and populations.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Become a critically reflective practitioner and gain practical experience in our health science and catering laboratories
• Gain an understanding of the relationship between food, nutrition and health
• Manage, analyse, interpret and communicate information and statistics about nutrition related health and disease states
• Undertake work-based placements to apply your expertise and refine your practical skills
• Have the option of undertaking a sandwich placement in year three

 You’ll undertake an extended placement in an area such as the food industry, for producers of specialist nutrition products, health promotion or research. You’ll also develop group skills by delivering your own nutrition awareness event. Throughout the course, you’ll learn skills which are appealing and desirable to employers.

Develop the marketing expertise to make strategic business decisions, manage digital campaigns and understand buyer behaviour.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Gain specific knowledge of marketing ethics, corporate social responsibility and of the ethical and cultural differences between national markets, maximising your employability both in the UK and overseas
• Learn how to understand the thought processes behind every consumer purchase
• Develop the acumen for business management so you can oversee finance, economics, accounting and people 

What would you do if a rival company launched a cheaper product to compete with yours, or the demand for your product shrank in one part of the world? This course will give you the chance to gain real-life business and marketing expertise. You'll test your marketing skills against simulated challenges in our business simulation suite and attend workshops and networking events.

Explore criminal behaviour, policing and criminal justice, and cultivate a deeper understanding of our current responses to crime on this qualifying law degree.

The course is recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board as meeting the academic requirements of your legal training, and completion will enable you to undertake further study in order to become a solicitor or barrister.

As part of this course you’ll:

• Develop your understanding of new technological developments and approaches in the creation of broadcast video and audio content
• Become an expert producer with the confidence to work across all platforms
• Develop TV and radio ideas and formats
• Take on production roles and work in teams on live broadcasts
• Produce podcasts, and shoot and edit video
• Create and work with motion graphics materials
• Exhibit your final projects to the general public and industry professionals at our Creative Technology Showcase 

You’ll learn to anticipate and respond to current local and global changes in broadcasting needs. As you develop production content in a broadcasting and radio studio, you’ll also have access to facilities for live edits of your material. We’ll give you the skills to use graphics and visual construction to communicate material for branding and audiences.

Opportunities will arise to work in our in-house media training facility on collaborative projects.
