How you’ll apply your new skills

You will be able to develop into an excellent and valued social worker with the capacity to work in all statutory social work settings and in a wide variety of private and voluntary workplaces in the UK and abroad. You will also be able to take advantage of high quality placements in both adult and children’s services including a final 100 day placement where you will undertake statutory interventions.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.

BA Music

The course has been designed so you can align your studies with your passion in music and graduate with a degree that represents your interests and skills. Join our friendly and supportive international community based at our North London campus. Collaborate with students from other creative courses, including Dance, Theatre, Animation, TV Production, Art, Fashion and Games Design and make the most of our state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including an industry standard recording and mixing studio, concert grand pianos, sound insulated practice rooms, computer suites and access to a wide range of software, such as Ableton, ProTools, Logic, Max MSP, Melodyne; hybrid analogue/digital recording studio and modular synths.

Our architectural technology degree combines architecture, civil engineering, services engineering, environmental science and building information modelling to give you the insight, skills and experience to succeed in the most heavily demanded areas of construction.

Gaining first-hand experience of transforming conceptual designs and drawings into practical building projects, you’ll get to grips with the latest technologies, industry software and Building Information Modelling (BIM) techniques. Access to on-campus facilities will be dependent on any Covid-19 restrictions in place at the time.

You’ll also learn new methodologies, develop your creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills, and have the chance to work on real-life projects – in the UK and abroad – to gain a broad understanding of the full project management process. You’ll graduate with the skills to enter a diverse range of roles in both the private and public sectors of construction. Our graduates have gone on to become BIM managers, lead designers, information managers, project managers and consultants – and some have even set up their own architectural design practices.

Our students are currently leading the way on our MDX Pavilion: a major new project to create a sustainably-designed learning, event, community and well-being space on our campus.
• We’ll give you the flexibility to study over three years (full-time), four years (with a paid, year-long work placement), or six years (part-time). You’ll also be able to get a bursary worth up to 50% if you decide to continue your studies with our MSc BIMM course.

Accountancy is at the core of every business which means that our BA Accounting and Finance course offers you a range of opportunities in every industry, from banking to fashion and everywhere in between. Covering key areas within financial and management accounting, taxation and business law, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the role accounting plays in successful organisations.

Build your hands-on practical accounting skills

• You’ll build your knowledge through a combination of lectures, workshops and seminars. You’ll also take part in a range of class-based discussions to further develop your skills and understanding.
• We use accounting software such as Zero, Sage and OneSource in our teaching and our state-of-the-art Financial Markets Lab will give you the hands-on experience you'll need to succeed in the profession.
• During your studies, you will have the opportunity to do a paid work placement, either as a year-long project or two shorter placements. Here you’ll get the chance to test and improve your technical skills in the real world, as well as building your soft employability skills such as communication and team work.

The MA Youth Justice, Community Safety and Applied Criminology degree is designed for people working or seeking to work in the area of crime and criminal justice. It offers a detailed understanding of contemporary issues facing professionals and managers in the criminal justice system and of the changing roles and responsibilities of the agencies and practitioners which make up that system.

Delivered by leading researchers and drawing on the expertise of those currently working in the field, this degree provides both traditional academic provision in the form of lectures, seminars and tutorials and the opportunity to undertake up to a third of the course via work-based learning (for those already working in appropriate contexts) or an internship with an agency such as a Youth Offending Team, a Drug and Alcohol Support Service or a Community Safety Partnership.

• The core elements of the programme are delivered on one evening per week so as to allow for those in work to attend. The remainder of the programme is made up by either studying optional modules available during the daytime or (in the case of one module) via distance learning or by a combination of a long or short dissertation and/or the long or short work-based learning or internship modules.
• This flexibility, both in the choice of content as well as in the mode of delivery/learning, allows students to tailor the course as much as possible to their own needs. This includes the option to study the programme over one year full-time or two years part-time.

Our course combines broad theoretical skills of modern psychology practice with a focus on the neuroscientific explanations and research of human behaviour.

You’ll study in the psychology department which has some of the most high-tech equipment available. In our sector-leading laboratory, you’ll have access to all the facilities you would imagine from a top class lab – psychophysiological monitoring, electroencephalography (EEG), and more. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or classroom together, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and you’ll have access to membership once you graduate with your psychology and neuroscience degree.

You enrol on a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto one of our three-year degree courses in these subject areas. BA Sociology

This course prepares you to enter the industry as a professional journalist or go on to work in all sorts of creative industries, from creative writing to comedy.

This course is ideal if you want to improve your skills as a writer and gain a theoretical foundation of best writing practices. You'll study all forms of writing, both fiction and non-fiction, as well as drama and screenwriting.
