Put your knowledge into practice
Our fashion design degree makes work experience part of your learning from the very start. In your second year, you’ll undertake a six-week work placement working with designers as they prepare for London Fashion Week. In the past, our students have worked with fashion giants like Burberry, Erdem, Molly Goddard and Peter Pillotto.

First and second year students will also participate in a end-of-year degree presentation, where third year students showcase their creative talents to industry experts.

Our graduates have gone onto exciting careers in the fashion industry thanks to our strong links with art and design employers, plus industry partners who sponsor final year students and give visiting lectures.Some students might also be chosen for our annual press show. This course aims to provide you with a sound knowledge of psychology, having been developed to impart the advanced knowledge required to serve your interests and career aspirations. Our course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) which means you'll gain Graduate Basis of Chartered Membership once you successfully complete this master's course.

This conversion course is for graduates intending to pursue a career in psychology who wish to acquire the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society. You may have a degree in another subject but wish to either change career or pursue your interest in psychology in more depth. Students are introduced to the broad range of theoretical and methodological approaches to psychology and are encouraged to develop a critical approach to studies, evaluating theory and evidence accordingly.

By the end of this course, you will be able to perform quantitative and qualitative data analyses and use statistical software to analyse complex data. You will design, implement, analyse and communicate independent and group project work to an advanced level culminating in a dissertation on an agreed topic. • You’ll spend 50 hours each year gaining hands-on experience and developing your professional experience through work experience placements in the industry.
• Our partnerships with professional sports teams such as Tottenham Hotspur and Saracens Rugby Club means you’ll be able to build valuable professional contacts while you study.
• Due to Covid-19 we are following guidance from BASRaT and Public Health England regarding SSR’s contact with their colleagues during the teaching of practical based skills, this includes full PPE to ensure the safety of all staff and students.
• In eventualities where we are unable to be face to face in the laboratory or classroom or other practical clinical settings, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.
• The availability of placements is subject to the co-operating organisation, and we are working closely with our partners to ensure that as many as possible are available although this may be affected by the pandemic.  In the event that placement hours cannot be completed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will encourage students to complete relevant online CPD courses to enhance their learning which can be used towards their portfolio instead.

Combing psychological theory and research with therapeutic practice, this course is an ideal stepping-stone towards a career in counselling, psychotherapy, as well as clinical psychology. During your BSc in Psychology with Counselling you’ll gain a broad understanding of psychology, alongside developing specialist counselling skills. You’ll also learn about mental health practices and how they are studied and researched.

Our course has been accredited by the British Psychological Society. Those with a Lower Second Classification (or higher) will be eligible to apply for BPS accredited Master's and Doctoral programmes leading to careers as a Psychologist.

When available, you’ll be taught in our award winning Hatchcroft Building which includes physiology, social observation, virtual reality and auditory cognition laboratories. This allows you to build your skills in a live environment as you’ll have access to psycho-physiology and social observation labs, as well as 12 testing cubicles. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or the classroom together, we aimm to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

During your counselling and psychology degree you’ll be encouraged to take on a work placement so you can test your skills in the real world. Previously we've seen our students take on internships in areas such as eating disorders, autism and the psychological factors relating to male and female rape.

Physiology is a scientific discipline that’s essential to medical practice and human health. Our degree will give you a theoretical understanding of bodily functions, from cells and tissues through to organ systems. You’ll be taught by a dedicated team of academics and clinical practitioners, using a wide range of learning styles. The course will focus on the diagnosis of disease, assessment of human fitness, and performance under difficult environmental conditions.

• External specialists from related industries frequently visit our campus to give talks. We have excellent relationships with prestigious NHS trusts, such as Guy’s and St Thomas’, UCLH, College Hospital, and many more. We use these relationships to help you secure placements and gain exposure to the industry. We also give you the opportunity to take an optional placement year.
• Past graduates from this course have gone on to roles like applied physiologist, exercise physiologist, clinical scientist, and many others. Our information systems degree gives you the skills, experience and expertise you need to succeed in the computer-based sector – and beyond. • You’ll have the opportunity to take a year-long, paid work experience placement as part of a four-year study path (subject to securing an organisation that is able to support such a placement during the COVID-19 pandemic).
