Study political theory and political science examining governance, institution-building and decision-making while gaining thematic basis to academic legal studies which align to career paths for which knowledge and understanding of corporate, commercial and employment matters are valuable.

The study of Politics comprises political theory looking at normative questions, and political science looking at the organisation of government. International Relations examines governance, institution-building and decision-making through an analysis of historical phenomena, economic conditions, diplomatic relations, security and socio-cultural linkages among state and non-state sectors.
The Law minor aims to provide a thematic basis to academic legal studies which align to career paths that are attractive to alumni of the College, in particular, careers in which knowledge and understanding of corporate, commercial and employment matters are valuable; provide legal knowledge and skills.

With the Philosophy, Politics & History BA (Hons) at NCH, you can choose one of Philosophy, Politics or History as your major, and will study the other two as joint minors. The central aim of our PPH programme is to increase your understanding of, and ability to engage with, central questions, arguments, and texts in Philosophy, Politics and History, and to provide a lively sense of interrelations between these subjects.

With the Philosophy, Politics & Economics BA (PPE – Economics) at NCH, you study Economics as your major, and will study Philosophy and Politics as joint minors. The central aim of our PPE program is to increase your understanding of, and ability to engage with, central questions, arguments, and texts in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and to provide a lively sense of interrelations between these subjects.

Compare the political institutions of different countries, analysing from where they derive their legitimacy and how they interact with other organisations. and how artists and culture have responded to those institutions.

The Politics & International Relations with Art History BSc (Hons) will provide you with knowledge of the kinds of institutions people live under, and how artists and culture have responded to those institutions. You’ll compare the political institutions of different countries, analysing from where they derive their legitimacy and how they interact with other organisations. You’ll take a course in political theory, questioning not only how these institutions work, but also how thinkers have theorised they ought to work. At the same time, you’ll take a survey course that will provide a broad overview of the history of European art, as well as studying more media-specific courses focusing on paintings, architecture, and so on. 

The Law with Philosophy LLB (Hons) is a Qualifying Law Degree, covering all of the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board required areas of study to permit progression onto the professional training courses for qualification as a solicitor or barrister.

The Law with Philosophy LLB (Hons) will allow you to prepare for your career and follow your passions. In your degree, you will take all of the courses required for a Qualifying Law Degree, preparing you to take the professional training courses for qualification as a solicitor or barrister. Your Philosophy minor will complement your study of Law, bringing clarity and rigour to your thinking while you develop your understanding of and ability to engage with central philosophical questions, arguments theories and texts.

The Philosophy with Data Science BA (Hons) combines the study of Philosophy and Data Science. This innovative undergraduate degree equips you with a combination of communications, critical thinking and technological expertise that is highly prized in the evolving employment market.

Engage with the central questions, arguments theories and texts concerning the world and our place within it, developing rigour, clarity and originality in your thinking and writing, alongside fellow students of the Philosophy major. Learn about the logic behind language and meaning, while studying topics such as ethics, metaphysics and aesthetics. Complement these studies with the Data Science minor to consider the philosophical and ethical issues related to computer data, while learning robust coding skills, and how to use databases, systems and analytical tools effectively to generate insights and intelligence.

The Law with Psychology LLB (Hons) is a Qualifying Law Degree, covering all of the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board required areas of study to permit progression onto the professional training courses for qualification as a solicitor or barrister. Learn how English law is created, interpreted and developed while covering a range of areas such as criminal law, public law and contract law. Complement these studies with the Psychology minor to consider the philosophical and ethical issues relating to individual differences in social behaviours, attitudes and feelings, while exploring the biological, cognitive, and psychosocial areas of contemporary scientific psychology.
