Studio Art allows for a wider breadth of artistic opportunity. Rather than focusing on a single medium, all School of Art program areas offer room for experimentation. Ultimately, a focus is comprised of a selection of courses that exemplify each individual student's artistic goals.

The Master of Science in Nutritional Science program offers interdisciplinary study in the field of nutrition that allows students to develop particular competencies related to their career aspirations.

The mission of the Master of Science in Nutritional Science Program is to provide a specialized course of advanced nutrition study that integrates graduate education and research to develop competent professionals prepared to meet the nutrition-related needs of the state of California, the nation, and the world.

The program offers four emphases: Nutritional Science, Latino Health and Nutrition, Food Science, and Dietetic Internship, and has a variety of elective courses to meet student needs (with courses in nutrition for exercise and performance, endocrinology, molecular genetics, nutrition and aging, using media to promote nutrition, etc.).

The research experience is a key part of learning and development for students in the program. MS in Nutritional Science students develop skills in planning, carrying out, and evaluating research activities and learn to critically use research findings to inform practice decision. Our nutrition faculty have active research agendas and provide many opportunities for student collaborations on research projects.

The B.A. in Linguistics, Option in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages is a program for students who are interested in TESOL. The program provides a broad foundation in linguistic theory related to sound and grammar systems, typology, language acquisition, and pedagogy. The program aims to integrate theory and practice, and help students develop a range of practical skills for teaching in a second language classroom.

This Option is suitable for students interested in teaching English abroad, teaching locally in non-public-school settings, or continuing to a Master’s or Graduate Certificate in TESOL. The Option is not a credential program for public school teaching, but some prerequisite work for a teaching credential may be completed as part of the major.

This degree track welcomes applications from composers who are working with live technologies (and perhaps mostly—or even exclusively--creating new works that exist without a traditional score), and we also welcome applicants who don’t necessarily define themselves as composers at all, but as sound artists and other creators working with sound in various ways in conjunction with other media. Students working in the Composition with Interactive Media track realize new works in conjunction with their work with the BCCM Laptop Ensemble and often collaborate with colleagues in other departments and programs on campus, including art, computer science, dance, design, and film & electronic arts.

This option is designed primarily for those interested in careers that are related to zoology, ecology, and botany. It is particularly appropriate for students who wish to attend veterinary or graduate school, and for those seeking employment in environmental consulting firms, and fish and wildlife agencies. This option requires approximately 80-83 units in the major, of which 43-46 units are in lower division and 37 units are in upper division.

This program is designed both for students who wish to pursue further graduate study and those seeking a terminal degree. The program seeks to blend theoretical and applied aspects of linguistics and draws from a variety of disciplines.

The Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program is designed to provide its students with advanced and highly demanded training in modern supply chain management practices, analysis methods, technology applications, strategy development, and other relevant skills that will advance their career prospects and prepare them for lifelong learning in a global supply chain environment. The rigorous curriculum will equip its graduates with advanced knowledge and skills needed to identify, analyze, and resolve complex supply chain challenges faced by globalscale businesses. This is accomplished through a unique combination of quantitative, technical, operational, strategic, and behavioral preparation.

Fast Track Master of Science in Supply Chain Management

The Fast Track Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MSSCM) program is available to promising students seeking a career in supply chain management. CSULB undergraduate supply chain management students may apply to the Fast Track MSSCM program as undergraduates. Students are eligible for the Fast Track MSSCM if they maintain a 3.0 Overall and Upper Division Major GPA. Students deemed eligible for the Fast Track MSSCM program may waive the GMAT/GRE test and additional application requirement. Please inquire with the Graduate Business Office for more information.

The BA in Dance, Option in Dance Science, offers a course of study combining dance with specific kinesiology and science courses for students interested in teaching careers in dance, dance medicine, careers in dance fitness, or graduate education in the areas of dance science or related dance studies. Students interested in the BA in Dance, Option in Dance Science should meet with Program Coordinator Brooke Winder no later than the start of their 2nd year (earlier for transfer students). Additionally, students must pass BIOL 207 , BIOL 208 , and DANC 260 with a minimum GPA of 2.25 to satisfy the major specific declaration requirements. Classics comprises the study of the ancient Greek and Roman languages, classical archaeology, literatures, and civilizations, as well as the peoples with whom they interacted. The Department of Classics provides a Bachelor of Arts in Classics as well as minors in Latin, Greek, and Classical Studies. Roman and Greek civilizations are the two options available for the Classics major.

Master of Science Accountancy is for students and professionals who want to advance and develop their accounting knowledge in auditing, financial statement analysis, corporate governance, forensic accounting, and taxation required to meet the requirements for CPA licensure.
