This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in computer and information technology security.  Cybersecurity degrees lead to positions as a systems administrator, intelligence analyst, network engineer, information security manager, network security engineer, or information systems analyst.

The accounting technology tax option AS degree prepares you for a position as an accountant or an accounting paraprofessional in advanced professional accounting occupations requiring analysis, evaluation, theory and design.

The coursework focuses on basic accounting functions as well as skills common to several fields of business, including finance, business law and general business topics.

Applicants and potential students applying to the AS degree will have earned an Advanced Technical Diploma (ATD) in medical laboratory technician (or equivalent) with 40 credit hours that transfer from the technical college. Students will earn 36 credit hours at Hillsborough Community College to complete the AS degree.

The Humanities AA pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in Humanities or a related field. Humanities is an interdisciplinary program with coursework that covers a broad range of studies. The curriculum encourages students to broaden their world view by studying history, literature, fine arts, philosophy, and foreign languages.

The architecture AA pathway degree is ideal for students who wish to pursue Bachelor's degrees in architectural design, interior design and landscape architecture.

If you have an interest in technology, an eye for detail and a good amount of artistic talent, this may be the path for you. HCC offers the training you need to lay the foundation for a successful career. The coursework for this program prepares you for employment as a construction planner, architectural assistant or architectural engineer, as well as to sit for the contractor's exam.

The Architecture specific courses are only offered on the Dale Mabry campus.

If you are a licensed or licensure-eligible paramedic, or have been accepted into the paramedic program, the emergency medical services AS degree program offers you an opportunity to specialize in education, management or technology.

Course work combines classroom lecture, practical skills laboratory and actual patient clinical experiences. The lecture portion (seven credit hours) covers the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards for the Emergency Medical Technician as well as skills required by the state. The practical skills laboratory portion (three credit hours) includes application practice and performance testing in simulated patient care situations. The clinical portion (two credit hour) provides actual patient care during transport to a hospital and in the hospital setting.

This pathway is designed for students interested in transferring to a four-year institution to pursue a Bachelor's degree in business with a focus on entrepreneurship. The pathway provides students with the opportunity to engage in ideation, business and financial modeling, effectuation, rapid prototyping, and design thinking.

The hospitality administration management AA pathway degree is ideal for students who want to pursue Bachelor's degrees in the field of hospitality. It allows a you the ability to complete the 36 hours of general education credits, while meeting the common prerequisite requirements for university admission into the hospitality administration program.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. The Exercise Science AA pathway degree is for students who want to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science. This degree can lead to careers in personal fitness, coaching and athletic training, or to advanced professional degrees in sports nutrition, physical therapy and other related professions.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. Cybersecurity prepares students for jobs in the fields of computer systems analyst, computer network specialist, computer support specialist or network systems engineer. Students will learn how to prevent security breaches by hardening network defenses through implementing security policies and vigorous testing of policies. They will also learn to  work with other team members to respond and mitigate security type events.
