Allied Health Professions
Exercise Science is the study of movement and the associated functional responses and adaptations the body makes as a result of movement/exercise. The Allied Health Professions (AHP) sequence gives you a well-rounded foundation in areas of Exercise Science, including physiology, biomechanics, and sports psychology.

AHP also offers advanced science coursework to prepare you for graduate studies in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physician Assistant.

Fashion Design and Merchandising
The Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) program at Illinois State University puts your designs on the runway, connects you with professionals nationwide, teaches courses in all areas of design and merchandising through industry-level Design Studio and Textile Lab facilities, and inspires you with the 2,000 piece Lois Jett Historic Costume Collection.

FDM courses include Textiles, Fashion Trend and Industry Analysis, Advanced Textiles, Clothing and Behavior, Economics of Fashion, Apparel Product Development, Apparel Product Analysis, and Fashion Promotion. Within the FDM program, you can select from two different emphasis options:

• The Fashion Merchandising option which includes additional courses in retail buying
• The Fashion Design and Product Development option which includes additional courses in draping and flat pattern making

llinois State's ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD program) is a 2-year program that includes extensive coursework in the sciences, social sciences, management, and specialized courses covering the broad field of food, nutrition, and dietetics. All DPD students will need to complete an undergraduate professional practice experience as a program requirement.

The Didactic Program in Dietetics provides the first step for students planning to become a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) by preparing graduates for the required ACEND accredited dietetic internship.

Graphic Design at Illinois State fosters a collaborative environment engaging you with print and emerging digital media. Our program prepares you to contribute to positive change for the betterment of society.

Students graduating from the Graphic Design program can pursue successful careers in client-based design or self-initiated research. You'll have opportunities to work at design studios, advertising agencies, and diverse corporations or institutions.

Our alumni continue to be a part of the Wonsook Kim School of Art after graduation and we continue to harness professional relationships and networking connections between them and our current students through social media and CrossPlatform, the Graphic Design student club.

History
Explore the past and join the conversations about what happened and why we should care. History not only gives us interesting stories to tell, but helps us further understand ourselves and the world.

Majoring in history lets you dive into the topics you are most excited about. Our program offers nearly 100 courses – from the Middle Ages to the American Revolution. You’ll get the opportunity to learn in small classes from a passionate faculty.

History at Illinois State offers an Accelerated Master’s Degree (AMD) sequence. This option gives high-achieving undergraduate students the opportunity to earn a master’s degree with only one year of additional study. Once enrolled in the major, you can contact your advisor to learn more.

The Applied Community and Economic Development (ACED) sequence is an interdisciplinary program that enables those who are passionate about social change through service to take their careers to the next level. The sequence is designed for returned Peace Corps Volunteers and students with other development experiences (e.g., AmeriCorps, nonprofit work).

Actuarial Science
The Actuarial Program at Illinois State University is a Center for Actuarial Excellence, one of the first nine academic programs in the United States to receive that recognition in 2009, and the first one in the State of Illinois. It is one of the leading actuarial programs in the United States, offering an undergraduate Bachelor degree, and a graduate Master degree. The program combines high quality education in all areas of actuarial theory with serious commitment to actuarial practice and professionalism.

Communication Studies - Organizational and Leadership Communication
The Communication Studies - Organizational and Leadership Communication sequence enhances communication knowledge, understanding, and skills for enhancing organizational relationships. The goal of this sequence is to equip the student to successfully use communication as a tool to enhance organizational outcomes. Students will gain an understanding of how communication processes can be used to manage behaviors in an organizational context while becoming a competent communicator.

Studio Arts Sculpture
The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

The Master of Music in Music Therapy is designed to produce highly qualified and knowledgeable music therapists who have advanced training in music and its therapeutic applications. Students take classes in advanced study in music, the behavioral sciences, music therapy theory and application, and research methodology.
An MM in music therapy qualifies individuals for:

• Supervisory or coordinator positions in arts therapies
• College/university entry-level music therapy positions
• Producing and disseminating scholarly work in music therapy through presentations/publications

Graduate students with an undergraduate degree in music, may simultaneously take undergraduate deficiency courses in music therapy while pursuing a Master's degree.
