The Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Water Resource Economics prepares students to become responsible leaders in the management of natural resources through coursework in quantitative methods, economics, politics and communication. Our planet is more than meets the eye. Explore Earth from its origin and history to its components and how they interact with each other. Students who select the Bachelor of Science in Geosciences with a Geology emphasis take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the planet. In this top-ranked program, students learn scientific research skills; gain experience working with data and technology in the field and in the laboratory; and study the Earth's origin and history, as well as the planet's components and how they interact with one another. Geology students participate in a Capstone Summer Field Camp in the later part of their program that provides hands-on experience applying their content knowledge in the field. Public health professionals design and implement programs to ensure all communities have access to crucial health services and safe living conditions. The University of Arizona's Bachelor of Science with a major in Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. The Public Health Practice emphasis is one of several areas of concentration within the major. Public Health Practice students study health program evaluation, health policy, law and ethics. Neuroscience and cognitive science are broad areas of scientific study. Students seeking the Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a Thematic emphasis can choose an in-depth topical focus that matches their future career, research or study goals. The Thematic emphasis is meant for students who have a clear and compelling interest in a particular topic area in neuroscience and cognitive science that falls outside the scope of the major's several other emphases. Students wishing to choose a Thematic focus will be required to explain to faculty what the topic area is and why it doesn't align with the current emphases, as well as support the objectives of their coursework. As with the other emphases, research and independent study can be used for up to six of the 15 credits required to complete an emphasis.
