Students earning their Bachelor of Arts in World Literature gain advanced proficiency in at least one language other than English while cultivating cross-cultural literacy. An immersion in ancient and modern literature from a variety of regions broadens students' understanding of the human condition and the ideas and concepts that foster global connection. The B.A. in World Literature is a collaboration between the university's College of Humanities and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The major sets students up for careers in media, tourism, international business and other positions for which well-rounded, empathetic individuals are in high demand.

The Sustainable Communities Emphasis of the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Built Environments program guides students to discover how local and regional planning creates more sustainable communities. Students explore climate action planning, transportation planning and urban development and build critical thinking skills and a solutions-based approach to navigate the urban challenges of the present and future. Students also learn how planning impacts and is influenced by the environment, and how to make cities more sustainable and resilient. The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science offers an emphasis in Soil, Air and Water. Students who opt for this track gain a broad scientific understanding of human influence on the natural world, from the molecular level to a global scale. Through work in classrooms, in labs and in the field, students learn how to properly collect soil, water and air samples, identify and implement appropriate analytical techniques, and interpret results. They also gain a deeper understanding of how environmental systems sustain climate, purify water, provide food and fiber, and remediate pollution.

The Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies investigates the historical and contemporary experiences of Africana peoples and how they are shaped by gender, class, race and global conditions. Students choose from one of three emphases: African American History, Culture & Aesthetics; Comparative Global African Diaspora; or Performance, Media, & Digital Africana Studies. This interdisciplinary major gives students essential professional skills applicable to many careers, including the ability to understand people from any background; writing; critical thinking; public speaking; creativity; leadership; and initiative. Classes focus on literature, history, culture, film, technology, arts, politics and more. The program is a leader in digital learning and boasts the nation's first Hip-Hop minor. Students are supported by faculty and a network of community leaders, with opportunities for internships, study abroad and more.

Corporations, organizations, governments and communities need public health leaders to focus on planning, management and administration. The University of Arizona's Bachelor of Science with a major in Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. The Health Systems Theory and Practice emphasis is one of several concentrations within the major. The faculty challenges students to integrate concepts from biology, chemistry and physics to comprehend how different kinds of environments: agriculture, urban, forest, wetland function as systems. The Bachelor of Music in Performance major with a Composition emphasis prepares student composers to meet the challenges and opportunities of an ever-changing profession. The Fred Fox School of Music offers coursework in which students receive intensive private instruction in music composition in traditional and electro-acoustic media from award-winning faculty members. In addition, students take classes in music theory, improvisation, music history, orchestration and conducting. The faculty strives to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the aesthetics of musical design and the operations of creators, performers and listeners as they use music to shape their world.

Develop a comprehensive education in Arabic, from language proficiency to cultural knowledge of Arabic society, at one of the top programs in the U.S. Arabic studies introduce students to the richness and importance of Arabic culture. Offered by the School of Middle Eastern & North African Studies, this Bachelor of Arts program makes an excellent double major, preparing students for successful international careers. As students become proficient in Arabic - widely considered a critical language for the U.S. - they also learn dialects such as Moroccan and Egyptian.
