The Fred Fox School of Music brings together faculty and students in an environment where students receive an education in music technique and performance while enjoying personalized guidance and mentoring. Students earning the Bachelor of Music in Performance with an emphasis in Guitar take classes in instrument technique as well as practical courses in sound mixing and recording. Students attend concerts, workshops, lectures, clinics and master classes, many taught by visiting artists and scholars. Graduates embark on careers as performers and educators in a variety of fields.

Discover philosophy. Learn to ask the right questions, analyze issues from many points of view and mull over answers to life's most important mysteries. The academic study of philosophy is the pursuit of the fundamental truths about people, the world in which they inhabit and their relationships to each other. This Bachelor of Arts prepares students to continue graduate work in philosophy, especially those interested in law school. Philosophy majors thoughtfully dissect questions such as, ""Do our perceptions represent the way things really are?"" ""What can science tell us about the true nature of the world?"" or ""Does my identity persist through time?"" In examining answers to these questions, students develop skills in verbal and written communication, problem-solving, clear and disciplined thinking, and persuasive argumentation.

Enrich your understanding of our increasingly interconnected world, transcending the constraints of place, race and gender to communicate universal messages and themes. Global Studies teaches students to think critically about global issues from a variety of disciplines. This Bachelor of Arts uses intellectual and experiential frameworks to empower students to analyze, communicate, problem-solve and empathize. The Literature Arts and Film emphasis educates future leaders of the new global society, a role that requires a high level of intercultural and multilingual competence. Students discover the critical part that cultural production plays in the international landscape and equips them with the skills to shape that landscape. Students become adaptable to unfamiliar environments and are able to assess cultural differences in professional settings and communicate well with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Global Health: Students will Identify and assess how the health of humans and human communities have been impacted by globalizing forces. 3. Political Economy and Institutions: Students will explain how globalizing political-economic and institutional forces shape order/disorder and cooperation/conflict around the world. 4. Global Societies: Students will articulate how globalization has impacted identities, cultures, and local/national communities in ways that generate social stability and instability.

No matter the medium television, websites, publications through which news travels, it's trained journalists who bring truth to power and the people. Journalism is the field of researching and reporting the news through a variety of media. This Bachelor of Arts introduces students to the fundamentals of journalism, including important aspects of the field such as law and ethics. Students learn to gather information, interview subjects, analyze the content, distill it and then communicate to an audience effectively, accurately, quickly and ethically. While students get exposure to all aspects of journalism, they can also specialize in broadcast or global journalism, even opting for coursework in digital media, such as drone videography or app development, to further prepare them for this always-changing field. A second major or a minor in a specialized field, such as political science, religion or Middle Eastern studies, is required.

Learning Outcomes

If you're passionate about the well-being and development of infants and toddlers, a degree in Early Childhood Education will be an excellent fit for you. Preschool and K-3 teachers help their students build a solid foundation to support them through future learning. Undergraduates seeking their Bachelor of Arts in Education in Early Childhood Education at the University of Arizona complete their program in just two years. They study with the same cohort from start to finish, offering each other inspiration and support along the way. Early Childhood Education majors also earn their Arizona Teaching Certification for birth through grade three. After gaining real-world teaching experience, they graduate classroom-ready to welcome the next generation of youth starting their educational journey.

Majoring in World Literature exposes you to a variety of languages and cultures, providing a solid foundation for careers in industries locally or abroad. Students earning their Bachelor of Arts in World Literature gain advanced proficiency in at least one language other than English while cultivating cross-cultural literacy. An immersion in ancient and modern literature from a variety of regions broadens students' understanding of the human condition and the ideas and concepts that foster global connection. The B.A. in World Literature is a collaboration between the university's College of Humanities and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The major sets students up for careers in media, tourism, international business and other positions for which well-rounded, empathetic individuals are in high demand.

This math degree provides a solid base for graduate studies in finance and beyond. Students earning a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with an Economics and Business emphasis develop a deep theoretical knowledge of the mathematics underlying economics and finance. They will choose a related minor; options include Finance, Economics, or Personal and Family Financial Planning. Undergraduates gain a foundation in mathematical concepts that can be applied across a variety of industries. Whether students aim to address broader economic issues or prefer to focus on banking, finance or economic forecasting, their skill set will be in high demand.
