The Bachelor of Arts major in Italian with a Language and Literature emphasis offers an interdisciplinary approach that focuses on the study of the Italian language. In this program one of the largest Italian programs in the country students acquire a high level of proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Italian. In addition to the study of language, coursework covers the literary and artistic aspects of Italian culture and their contributions to the world; milestones and major events in Italian history; and modern Italian culture, current events and politics. Armed with an understanding of the soil-plant relationship, discover plant systems that maximize production, conserve resources and minimize environmental damage. The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Plant Systems has four tracks; students in the Agronomy track expand their knowledge of crop production. Plants are the foundation of biodiversity, global climate and the sustainability of the planet. As such, increased crop yields, reduced use of land and improved efficiency are key to healthy ecosystems and sustained human life. This interdisciplinary degree draws on coursework from basic and applied plant and soil science and features small classes and hands-on training. Students focus on developing low water use and disease-resistant plants that maximize crop yield and plant health in fields where land size constrains production.

Political science is the study of government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups. Students are introduced to concepts in politics, policy issues and the structure of governments. For those interested in law, civil service or foreign service, the Foreign Affairs emphasis is a good fit. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre gives students the preparation they need for a professional career in the theatre industry, thanks to the program's rigorous core curriculum in acting, voice, movement and performance. Coursework includes Stanislavsky-based acting training; voice and movement studio work; private voice lessons; general voice classes; performance classes in various styles and genres; dance fundamentals; and professional development and business strategies. Students enjoy numerous opportunities to perform, including onstage, in film and through the Arizona Repertory Theatre and the Arizona Theatre Company.
