Political science is the study of government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups. For the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in American Politics, students grasp the foundations of political theory, and explore institutions, international relations, foreign affairs, and ideas and methods. They also delve into the unique systems, history and dynamics at play in the United States. Students develop strong analytical, argumentation and communication skills, and have access to internships at nonprofit organizations and government agencies, such as the Arizona Legislature and the Arizona Superior Court, and with local politicians and campaigns.

If you have a strong interest in finance and analyzing information, consider majoring in Accounting in the University of Arizona's high-ranking Eller College of Management. Accountants compile, analyze and report financial data. Students wishing to earn their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting must apply to the Eller College of Management, a separate process from admissions to the University of Arizona. Undergraduates must complete 21 accounting units and 30 professional core units. In their final semester, along with taking four required accounting courses, students immerse themselves in a capstone experience that's unique to them. Accounting students can apply for several scholarships to support their journey through higher education. Graduates go on to find work with corporations, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and accounting firms.

The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering prepares students to create infrastructure that stands the test of time while using methods and materials that preserve the world's vital resources and protect the environment. The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Plant Systems has four tracks; students in the Fresh Produce Safety track advance the latest methods for maintaining the safety of food one of the most important resources on Earth. In this Yuma-based program, students discover how production chains become contaminated with diseases, and learn Good Agricultural Practices for the harvest of leafy greens and fresh-vegetable food safety. Coursework provides insight into food safety issues, field risk assessments, facility sanitation and inspection processes. Students gain real-life experience in the applications of soil, water and plant sciences, including soil chemistry, plant nutrition and hydroponics.

When students join the Bachelor of Music in Performance program with an emphasis in Jazz Studies, they learn from an internationally renowned faculty whose members enjoy accolades in both the performance and academic spheres. If you have a strong drive and entrepreneurial spirit, set your aspirations on the highly lauded, one-year New Venture Development Program.  Students wishing to add a second major to another course of study at the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management have the option of applying to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship. The New Venture Development Program at the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship offers selected students a one-year immersion curriculum during their senior year. In collaboration with their peers and with entrepreneurs serving as mentors, students build a new venture from the ground up and hone their entrepreneurial and business leadership skill set in the process. Ranked in the nation's top 10 programs, the B.S.B.A. in Entrepreneurship is highly selective, and accepted students graduate with a competitive edge.

Identify important strategies, such as green infrastructure and water harvesting, that we can employ to design innovative and sustainable landscapes. The importance of the role that landscapes play in the built environment is at the center of the Sustainable Landscapes Emphasis of the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Built Environments program. Students learn about environmental design, planning and management challenges and how to overcome them. Students study subjects such as water harvesting, passive cooling, urban heat island mitigation, climate adaptability, and how landscapes can improve human health. They also explore urban ecology, natural resource management and environmental policy. Upon graduation, students have a deeper understanding of how landscapes play a pivotal role in a community and the ways to make them more sustainable.
