You start collecting chemical knowledge and skills through core courses and shadowing faculty and upper-level student researchers. As a sophomore, you will start helping with authentic, real-world research projects – experience many biochemistry students don’t get until graduate programs. This is possible thanks to the individual attention you get in our small classes and our well-equipped research laboratories.

Cardiac sonographers, also known as echocardiographers, use ultrasound to examine the heart's chambers, walls, valves and vessels. They use technology such as sophisticated diagnostic ultrasound imaging machines and transducers that use high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images to complete important tasks, such as:

• Acquiring information related to the heart's anatomy and physiology
• Producing real-time images of cardiac structures to assist the physician in diagnosing cardiovascular disease
• Evaluating acquired and congenital cardiac abnormalities and associated complications
• Evaluating narrowed or leaking heart valves
• Looking for causes of murmurs, chest pain, shortness of breath
• Tracking and evaluating chronic heart conditions

Cardiac sonographers work directly with healthy and critically ill inpatients and outpatients of all ages in predominantly noninvasive procedures, carried out in small, low-lit rooms. They stand or sit beside the patient, who is on a stretcher, exam table or wheelchair. Sometimes the cardiac sonographer will transport a portable ultrasound to a patient's room and perform the test there.

The Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management prepares individuals for in demand entry-level management positions in today’s complex and evolving healthcare system. Develop knowledge and skills in topics such as health systems and policy, healthcare law and ethics, healthcare finance, public health and epidemiology, quality measurement and outcomes analysis, and strategic planning in health services management. Jefferson's active, collaborative approach to education in our Nexus Learning model is the foundation of this program’s curriculum. In a hands-on learning environment, students examine new fashion designs, ideas and technologies to create viable business models and market-driven innovation. In addition to the 22 core credit hours, the MSGFE program culminates in 9 credits of Global Fashion Project courses. This unique experience allows for significant customization for students to meet career aspirations. In these courses, students from disparate backgrounds work in teams to find new product or system opportunities, then design and prototype functional products or systems that answer the requirements of their research findings. Students also benefit from the projects by working directly with successful fashion and apparel companies. Regular meetings with outside project stakeholders take place to give students networking opportunities that may translate into exciting internship and employment opportunities.

A broad range of psychology courses coupled with research, internships, and study-abroad experiences will thoroughly prepare you for graduate programs at top schools.
You have the power to tailor your curriculum to match your unique ambitions. You will choose half of the 16 psychology classes you need to take for your major – a more thorough curriculum than many other programs.  Required courses include very popular topics like Abnormal Psychology and Developmental Psychology. You will also have the opportunity to declare a minor of your choice, to further tailor your education for your particular interests.

The Bachelor of Science in Construction Management program at Thomas Jefferson University is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission (ANSAC) of ABET.  ABET-ANSAC evaluates 4-year Construction Management programs to approve that “Graduates of Construction Management programs will have the knowledge, as well as the technical, administrative and communication skills, necessary to succeed in the construction industry.” The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program, BS in Construction Management emphasizes the importance of a rich and productive collaboration between construction, project management and design.

Jefferson’s construction management program’s mission is to prepare students to be ethical, innovative problem-solvers who understand the full construction business model. Upon graduation, students possess a working knowledge of the construction business model and will be equipped with the technical knowledge and administrative and communication skills to plan and manage each phase of the construction process.

Landscape architects are activists and life-long learners who are imaginative and passionate explorers. We design places to meet your neighbor, throw a ball, have a picnic, read the newspaper, walk your dog, watch a sunset, and so much more.

Our students learn to be responsible and creative designers who listen, build trust and advocate for our environment—wildlife and humans alike. Learn a design process that is equitable, inclusive and creative. Design real world projects that range from small parklets to engaging urban outdoor environments, parks and wildlife corridors in our award winning, accredited program.

Our real-world approach offers students pathways into the landscape architecture profession by working in professional offices as interns for credit or as paid interns with our faculty on research and design projects during the semester or over the summer.

The M.S. in Interior Architecture is a 49 or 69-credit graduate program structured to meet the needs of students from both non-design, design and architecture backgrounds seeking one of the best professional-level education in interior design/interior architecture. The program offers up to one year of advanced standing for those already in the field who are interested in refining their knowledge and skills at the graduate level. This program prepares students to reach their full potential, whether seeking an introduction or building on previous experience.

As an Interior Architecture program, we emphasize how the interior environment encompasses all parts of the interior volume and acknowledges the intersection between architecture and interiors. The curriculum integrates theory with the technical skills needed for practical application and immerses students in current technologies and sustainable practice as they work collaboratively and think critically to discover innovative solutions. Cytotechnologists are responsible for the study and evaluation of human cells sampled from all organs and body fluids. Professionals in this field have the skills to detect and interpret features representative of malignant and non-malignant diseases, including cancer, infectious disease, and autoimmune disorders. In addition to being experts in the microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens, cytotechnologists also select and perform molecular and immunologic tests necessary for development of personalized patient care.
